Senior Manager, Category Management

Job Location: Nashville, TN

Summary
Leads a team of individual contributors with responsibility for driving category growth initiatives at key customers. Establishes the Category Management team as the indispensable consultative partner to the external customer.
  • Develop a team of experts in the pervasive application of insights to drive category growth
  • Streamline tactical work to deliver customer strategy
  • Strengthen analytical skills and integration of shopper insights of category management team


Responsibilities
  • Develops the analytical frameworks by which the Category Management team helps retail partners drive category growth strategies
  • Manage business by understanding and coaching: Syndicated and panel data analysis, factory sales, the sales planning process, development of quantitative and qualitative supported best demonstrated sales practices
  • Utilize the performance management process to coach and develop team members throughout the year, through the effective use of the performance appraisal process and performance records
  • Handle administrative duties: Weekly T&E expense reports, Performance management, yearly input to budgeting process
  • Utilize the Internal Selection and Succession process to fill openings in a timely manner.
  • Leverage macro-economic trends to strengthen category recommendations
  • Player/Coach role. Need strong analytical skill set to include Excel, PowerPoint, JDA, Numerator/Panel Data, Nielsen/IRI
  • Developing and delivering solutions to internal and external partners
  • Travel Requirement: 30-40%

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's Degree Required; MBA preferred

Experience: Previous Category Management and People Leadership experience required. Minimum 8 years CPG experience. Strong understanding of the Category Management Process.
