In an environment where the patient is at the center of everything we do, the lead will assist the department supervisor by performing combinations of the following activities: coordinate and maintain work flow, auditing and quality control of work completed in the department, ability to complete all work done in the department, able to handle escalated issues with both internal and external customers, and within the department. May be asked to train, give performance input, or help with disciplinary action.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Ability to perform all tasks of a senior billing rep
  • Depending on the department will monitor or work one or more of the following: deposits of all lockboxes for verification, work with all banks that we use for any operational issues, utilize bank web site reports for reconciliation.
  • Work with banks, Corporate Treasury, and Paymentech deposits functions.
  • Train new employees and complete other training throughout the year (compliance, competency, etc.)
  • Effectively communicates with supervisors, peers, billing reps, and others, as appropriate on regular basis, assuring proper flow of information.
  • Assist in documenting standard operating procedures for the department
  • Assist in resolving problems relating to bank reconciliations. Work closely with Centralized Accounting, NRSC Regional Teams, and prepay sites for resolution.
  • Assure appropriate employee production by providing contingency plans for vacation and absences.
  • Provide input and guidance to staff members in order to ensure continuous improvement in processes which will improve customer service.
  • Maintain all Compliance and HIPAA regulations at all times.
  • Work with all centralized banks to utilize web sites for balancing deposits.
  • Work closely with outside vendors and Imaging group to obtain accurate accounting information for necessary reports.
  • Work closely with auditors (internal and external) for any Support audit.
  • Work with finance to ensure all deposits are entered into Captrack system on a daily basis.
  • Contact Regional teams to review any problems or delays with deposits.
  • Meet or exceed daily production and quality standards.
  • Ability to work on various projects as needed and the ability to multi - task within the department.
  • Regular research involving both the bank web site and captrack systems.

Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma / GED (or higher)
  • 1+ years of experience in a Support (Mail Room, Captracks, and Optimaxx) or Billing Operations area.
  • Extensive working knowledge of Captracks and Mail Room and other Billing Systems
  • 1+ years of experience coaching and training in a collaborative manner
  • Ability to work during the operating hours of the site (7:30 AM - 5:00 PM) with the ability to work overtime as needed, based on department needs
  • If you need to enter a work site for any reason, you will be required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or similar UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener. When in a UnitedHealth Group building, employees are required to wear a mask in common areas. In addition, employees must comply with any state and local masking orders
