Clinical Studies Coordinator

The primary purpose of the Coordinator, Department Publications position is to provide communications support to the Department of Orthopaedic Oncology that includes management of publications and Web site development; project planning; and strategies to advance and promote the goals and activities of the department.

Protocol Development and Submission
In collaboration with the principal investigator and/or study sponsor, write, process, submit, and maintain all research protocols. Involved with protocol design and cost analysis.

Protocol Management
Manage the operation of multiple protocols in collaboration with the principal investigators and study sponsors. Provides overall coordination and facilitation of clinical research activity and protocol patient care, including patient accrual and screening, obtaining informed consent, patient registration in institutional database, patient follow-up and monitoring, documentation, data collection and analysis, and submission to study sponsors.
Ensure all research activities are in compliance with institutional policies.

Grant Preparation and Submission
Provides coordination and facilitation of grant submissions. Works with PI to determine and complete grant components needed, timeline, and institutional forms. Collates and prepares grant for submission and submits all pertinent information to institution and funding agency.

Literature Searches
Performs literature searches and develops disease specific bibliographies for publications, presentations, protocols and grants

Education Required:
Bachelor's degree.

Education Preferred:
Master's degree.

Experience Required:
Three years experience in area of research study or direct patient care obtained from nursing, data gathering or other related experience. May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one basis. With preferred degree, one year of required experience.

Experience Preferred: Protocol management experience
