Job Description

The Wealth Market Leader (WML) is responsible for leading the overall efforts of TD Wealth throughout their Market, across all segments, channels and partners. The WML will partner with Senior Leaders from Consumer, Commercial and TD Auto Finance (as examples), and with partners within TD Wealth, building upon our culture of collaboration and One TD. The WML will be an experienced People Leader, managing both other Managers and Client Facing Teams. The WML will be responsible for the overall growth of the business and for seizing the opportunity created by TD Bank in the Market. The WML will be responsible for creating a culture that puts clients first and delivers the Legendary Experience that TD strives for in all areas. The WML will be an excellent communicator and collaborator, enhancing clarity of purpose and driving performance in the Market through competence and diligence, and by fostering a clients first environment. The WML will attract and retain a team of highly qualified, partnership oriented professional Advisors and Leaders who demonstrate energy, intelligence and integrity and inspire confidence with clients and partners in all they do. The WML will understand and be prepared to communicate all regulatory obligations that apply to him/her and to the team and will build on the existing culture of compliance with both the spirit and the letter of those obligations.

Job Requirements

• Provides people management leadership by hiring the best talent, setting goals, developing staff, managing employee performance and compensation decisions, promoting teamwork and handling any/all disciplinary actions, as required
• Drives and executes an aggressive marketing plan to acquire new clients across all segments and channels
• Responsible for sale and implementation of investment, banking, lending and trust/estate products to clients and prospects
• Leads by example in delivering an exceptional and integrated experience to employees, partners and to clients
• Manages assigned resources for optimal efficiency and productivity, encouraging all team members to seize the opportunity presented to them
• Leads by example in ensuring all staff in the Market are fully aware of and compliant with all applicable internal and external regulations, policies and procedures and all other operational accountabilities
• Models and ensures staff understands and adheres to the appropriate operating policies/procedures/controls, Bank/industry service standards, codes of conduct and maintain high ethical standards
• Manages employees in compliance with all HR policies, procedures and guidelines of conduct
• Leads, coaches and develops team to achieve or exceed business expectations and professional/personal development objectives
• Promotes a positive customer and employee experience, while increasing shareholder value
• Creates an open, honest, and supportive work environment
• Builds a diverse team that reflects the communities in which TD Bank operates
• Proactively gathers feedback from employees in an effort to understand, impact, and influence the overall employee satisfaction within the Market
• Ensures team expertise in all core areas is maintained and strengthened over time by sharing best practices, developing expertise across disciplines and coaching
• Demonstrates a commitment to customer focus by ensuring a legendary service is provided during every customer interaction
• Builds an environment of collaboration, delivering all of TD's expertise to clients, leading to deeper relationships with clients
• Plans, recommends and implements a strategies to seize the opportunity in the Market across segments, channels and partnerships
• Annually develops a Portfolio Business Plan that outlines the activities and opportunities that will lead to the attainment of assigned goals
• Identifies opportunities within portfolio and networks to refer business to Retail, Commercial and other partners
• Acts as point person/liaison for all Retail, Commercial and other partnership relationships in the Market
• Maximizes profitability, while ensuring the clients and partners receive an exceptional client/partner experience
• Executes in a manner that is compliant with all applicable regulations, policies and procedures - fosters a strong control environment generally where all employees understand the spirit and the letter of the regulations and policies that apply to our business
• Contributes individually and as a team member, to ensure strong performance, collaboration and enthusiasm that sets Wealth apart from our competitors
• Involved in community and supports TDBFG charity and community initiatives

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 7-10 years experience in private banking, high-end retail or commercial lending in relationship management and business development positions.
  • Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation is preferred.
  • Series 7, Series 63 + 65 or 66 and Series 24 Supervising Principle.
  • A results-oriented and highly credible individual with a track record in one or more of the following areas: Private Banking; Commercial, Corporate or Investment Banking; or Wealth Management.
  • Knowledge of Bank regulatory risk and compliance policies, processes and requirements.
  • Knowledge of Retail Banking systems, applications, processes and procedures.
  • Knowledge of and ability to explain KYC, ATF and/or AML regulations, requirements and procedures.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and planning skills.
  • Exhibits excellent leadership and management skills; utilizes a highly motivated independent group of professionals (Business Development Officers and Private Bankers) within a growth and performance based culture.
  • A team player with superior leadership and sales management skills; ability to develop and drive a 'service excellence' culture through an organization.
  • An excellent advisor with the capacity to establish and manage relationships with high net-worth individuals; strong listening and consultative selling skills.
  • Confident, personable, professional presence with strong networking and business development skills.
  • Problem-solver with the ability to drive breakthrough thinking through the organization and challenges the status quo.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, including strong presentation skills to present to large, sophisticated audiences.
  • Candidates need to have demonstrated ability and success in working with the typical client to this business.

  • Strong credit and financial analysis skills.
