Sr. Business Technician - Major Components Cost Tracking Team

NextEra Energy Resources is one of the largest wholesale generators of electric power and renewable energy from the wind and sun in North America.

Position Specific Description

The core objective of the major components cost tracking team is to forecast O&M spend month over month for all major component related work within the NEER Wind Portfolio.

As a Sr. Business technician, this role will join a team of cost trackers that are assigned a range of wind sites within the portfolio, forecast major component job cost from job start to job finish, Collaborate with Wind Site Managers, Vendors performing the component work, and other operations support folks to ensure accurate job forecasting is captured intramonth, month end close, and year end.

With the volume of major component jobs going on at any given time, this role requires accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational skills to ensure success.

This position can be based at any of the NextEra Wind Site locations or Juno Beach

Job Overview

Employees in this role support the cost management and internal controls activities for the Power Generation Division. Individuals in this position perform a wide range of complex clerical and administrative assistance duties.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

Under limited supervision:
• Maintains records
• Retrieves and compiles data
• Compiles financial reports for budget, variance, and cost tracking
• Completes month-end close duties
• Ensures all transactions are in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley
• Assists with accounts payable activities when necessary
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High School Grad / GED
  • Experience: 2+ years
