Become a Project Manager at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you will work in the Grid Resilience, Engineering & Planning organization to deliver projects to improve SCE's Grid Resiliency and PSPS responses. You will be accountable for managing scope, schedule, and budget for one or more technical workstreams in the Grid Resilience portfolio. The Project Manager will collaborate and partner with the Senior Project/Program Manager, other technical project managers in IT such as Enterprise Architecture, Cyber Security, process owners, and operation units. A day in the life - Get ready to think big, work smart and shine bright!
  • Directs project planning, analysis, estimation, design, evaluation, demonstration, construction, testing, and implementation of projects. Ensures outcomes that satisfy requirements and quality targets.
  • Leads all stages of the systems development life cycle, using a high level of knowledge and experience in blending traditional project management principles and practices with an Agile development approach in the right proportions to fit large, sophisticated, most meaningful, enterprise-level projects and with the appropriate level of planning and provide the right balance of agility and predictability. Leads both Waterfall and Agile projects and may perform as Scrum Master.
  • Monitors, measures, and reports on project progress to management and customers. Leads forecasting, financial management, change management, risk management, and project tracking and controls for assigned projects.
  • Works with capacity management to ensure that the service providers have sufficient capacity to meet the required demand. Prioritizes across the enterprise to ensure highest valued investments are sourced and completed.
  • Manages vendor and 3rd party partners, including resource management, defining, and negotiating scope of work, ensuring delivery of quality goods and services, handling various other related tasks and invoice payments.

The essentials
  • 7 years of experience leading or managing IT projects.
  • 3 years of experience leading multi-function project teams efficiently implementing software or cloud deployment projects using Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
  • 3 years of experience handling project quality, including quality assurance, metrics, and quality controls.
  • 2 years of professional work experience managing suppliers, service contracts, project metrics, and contracts to meet project objectives.
  • Experience with business case development and aligning project initiatives with key business drivers and strategic goals.

The preferred
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 7 years of experience working in Information Technology for an electric utility.
  • 2 years of IT portfolio and customer relationship management experience.
  • Solid understanding of and demonstrated experience in using appropriate tools:
    • Agile Project Management tools such as Jira/Octane, GitHub, or equivalent.
    • Microsoft Project, Visio, and all Office Tools.
  • Prior experience with SCRUM/Agile methodologies with enterprise-level application development projects. PMI-ACP, CSM, or equivalent preferred.
