Position: CNXMotionProject Engineering Manager

CNXMotion, a motion control joint venture of Nexteer Automotive and ContinentalAutomotive,isseekinganEngineering Managerto lead a small, dynamic team in the developmentof autonomous motion control systems and advanced driver assistance systems.The preferred candidatewill utilizestrong leadership and technical skills tomanagea highly technical engineering teamandpromote CNXMotion technologiesat multiple levelswith both internal and external customers.Theposition is located at the CNXMotion facility in Grand Blanc, MIwhile offeringthe opportunity to work from homeon a flexible basis.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the engineering organization to develop compelling functions for highly autonomous vehicles and advanced driver assistance systems.
  • Recruit, train, allocate engineering resources, and administer performance reviews.
  • Influence future direction by contributing to the CNXMotion vision,missionand strategic planning.
  • Lead project management activitiesincluding:maintain project dashboards,timelines, facilitatequarterly engineering reviews and interfacing with internal and external customers.
  • Promote use of simulation techniques as an integral part of the engineering processfollowing the systems engineering verification and validation (V-model) process.
  • Nurture and developthe engineeringteam's expertise through conferenceattendance,publications,presentations,and training programs.
  • Support customer technology and vehicle demonstrationsat North American and European events.
  • Create a strong team environment while driving strategic goalattainment.
  • Stay abreast of developments in motion control techniques and autonomous vehicle market.


RequiredQualifications:
  • Minimum 10 years of engineering experience with 2 years supervisor experience.
  • Demonstrated visionary thinking to develop long and short-term plans.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and achieve results.
  • Excellentteam building, coaching and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong decision-making skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.


 Preferred Skills:
  • Knowledge of vehicle dynamics (steering, braking, suspension, driveline), mechanical systems, electronic systems, computer hardware and software.
  • Electric power steeringand electric brake system experience.
  • Excellent problem definition and solving techniques.
  • Knowledge of systems engineering "V", as well asmodel-basedsystems engineering (MBSE).
  • Knowledge of requirements management process and tools (Doors or MKS Integrity).
  • Knowledge of project management processes and tools.
  • Familiarity withMatlab andSimulink.


Educational Requirements:

Degree:             Bachelorof Science

Majors:             ElectricalorMechanical Engineering(or equivalent)preferred
