As a Collections Representative, you will:

  • Be responsible for obtaining past-due debts from individual or business customers of the bank. These customers may have an overdrawn checking or savings account, or they may have missed an auto, mortgage or business loan payment. Identifying the issue, collaborating on solutions and collecting the funds owed to the bank is at the heart of this position.
  • Work in a call center environment. Representatives wear headsets to field incoming calls and contact customers. A system automatically dials telephone numbers of customers with past-due accounts and, once the call has been answered, the system connects the call to the Collections Representative. During calls, representatives access multiple systems to discuss account status. After an introductory period and proven competency, this position has the potential to transition to a remote work environment.
  • Place 70-100 outgoing calls each day. Discussions are typically 10 minutes in length. In addition to discussions with customers, representatives also leave messages and field incoming calls.

Associated Bank is proud to provide a blended training approach including classroom, role-play and shadowing opportunities to learn from current Collections Representatives. This is a fast-paced and sometimes stressful position; however, collaborating on solutions with customers can be very rewarding.
