Principal VoIP Network Engineer

Responsibilities

The Principal VoIP Network Engineer is responsible for the design, deployment and operational escalation support for all aspects of Cisco Unified Communications and Collaboration applications and Video Conference (IPVC) infrastructure solutions. In addition, you would be responsible for the design, implementation, support and documentation of LAN/WAN networks, with an emphasis on VoIP and Video services to ensure optimal performance and maximum uptime.

This position is required to participate in the rotational on-call after hours support.
Qualifications
  • At least 10 years' experience of enterprise support, architecture and design of Cisco UC and IPVC
  • Extensive experience with Cisco VoIP and Video platforms required; CUCM, CUxN, Voice Gateways, CUMP/Webex, CER, Feature Servers, Application Servers, Media Servers and Video devices etc.
  • Hands on experience in VoIP and Video technology protocols. SIP, SS7, RTP, TLS, SCCP, H.323, MGCP, H.264, ISDN, CAS
  • Hands on experience with Cisco UCCX/UCCE design, implementation, operation and troubleshooting
  • Hands on experience with UCCX/UCCE scripting, and WFM/QM operations
  • Strong technical understanding and experience with Cisco Contact Center solutions and knowledge of UCCE, PCCE and UCCX
  • Experience with Cisco B/C serious UCS servers and UCS Manager
  • Experience with VMWare ESX 5.x and 6.x
  • Hands on experience with data networking skills required including; IP & Ethernet routing and switching based network design, testing and implementations with in-depth knowledge of the OSI seven layer model and in depth familiarity with industry protocols including IP, MPLS, OSPF, BGP, L3 switching, STP, 802.1Q
  • Working knowledge of SNMP, Voice technologies and services including VoIP, PBX, PRI, ISDN, ACD, call recording, voicemail, conferencing, and CDRs
  • Understanding of switching, routing, QoS and how they affect voice traffic and call quality
  • CCIE VOICE certification is preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, electronics engineering, or a related field, and 10 years experience in network engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
