Support Services Assistant Manager


The Support Services Assistant Manager of the Front Desk clerical staff, OR Assistants and PSST's will provide active daily management and ensure a quality patient surgical experience specific to the OR environment.

Incumbent has a strong clinical background to assist training of staff to perform duties/ responsibilities for the roles of OR Assistant and PSST (Anesthesia Technician). Incumbent must have strong leadership, communication and critical thinking skills. The incumbent is responsible for the effective coordination, management and supervision of staff while providing and maintaining an organized, smoothly functioning support services of the Operating Room. This position serves as Assistant Manager of the Support Services.

The incumbent functions as a resource to front desk staff, Operating Room nurses and surgical technicians, anesthesiologist, and surgeons. The incumbent is responsible as requested for ensuring the proper performance of the front desk, OR Assistants and PSST staff, including on-boarding, training, daily management, and quality checks. The incumbent provides input on capital inventory, performance metrics, and standards related to the OR environment. This role ensures proper staffing of front desk staff, OR assistants, anesthesia techs, and functions to meet the Main ORs needs. The incumbent completes performance evaluations and assists in the development of competencies on the OR assistants, anesthesia techs, front desk clerical staff and equipment coordinators to meet the department needs. Incumbent is responsible for performing other duties associated with the Main OR. Provide input and participates in department initiatives in partnership with the OR Leadership Team.

* Minimum 2 years of Hospital experience required.

* Previous Management experience preferred.

* Skill in confidentially establishing and maintaining subject files.

* Knowledge of Operating Room procedures and surgical schedules.

* Working knowledge of medical terminology

* Knowledge of CPT and ICD9 codes and/or resources available for review
