Position Description

Do you love using data and analytics to form and test hypotheses towards meaning and decisions? Have you collaborated and consulted with human resources functional experts to define data strategies and identify talent metrics and reports that can measure progress? Are you creative and skilled in visual communications and storytelling to present those metrics and trends in compelling and clear ways?

If you have led or participated in shaping and influencing the data strategy for an organization to help it reach its short and long-range goals, we have an opportunity for you at Argonne National Laboratory in its Human Resources Services group reporting to the Deputy Chief Human Resources Officer. This is a new role focused on optimally utilizing talent data as part of an overall talent strategy. In partnership with all human resources functions and their leadership, you will manage data, capture system and reporting requirements, lead, and facilitate defining a talent data strategy for Human Resource Services and Argonne National Laboratory.

Position Requirements

Qualifications We Require:
  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Business, Human Resources or related field and a minimum of 6+ years of progressive experience analyzing data towards decisions, or equivalent.
  • Must be highly proficient in all aspects of Excel and other data analysis software/tools.
  • Ability to organize, manage and prioritize multiple projects and stakeholders with conflicting deadlines and needs.
  • Experience with and demonstrated ability to define system and report requirements.
  • Experience with and knowledge of federal and state laws and human resources practices pertaining to data/information sharing and security.
  • Demonstrated consulting and relationship building capabilities with strong interpersonal and communications skills (both written and verbal).
  • Demonstrated ability to be highly collaborative when analyzing data to identify trends and create meaningful information and metrics with colleagues at all levels.
  • Ability to model Argonne's Core Values: Impact, Safety, Respect, Integrity, and Teamwork.

Qualifications We Desire:
  • Human Resources experience.
  • Experience with Workday HCM would be a plus.
  • Previous data focused work in service of diversity, equity and inclusion efforts would be valued.
  • Prior experience at another national lab, federal agency/contractor or R&D organization is useful.
