Associate Director, Global Value & Access, Pipeline Payer & Evidence Strategy

About This Role

The Associate Director, Global Value & Access will develop and execute the global pricing, reimbursement, and evidence generation strategies for pipeline assets. This successful candidate will report to the Head of Pipeline Payer & Evidence Strategy, and be responsible for several of our pipeline assets in disease areas of stroke, pain, lupus, ophthalmology, and movement disorders. The Associate Director will lead key global initiatives such as development of pricing/access assumptions, health economics and outcomes research (HEOR) related projects and deliverables, value communication tools, and partner with internal and external stakeholders to contribute to a wide range of product-level initiatives,. The role involves establishing strong working relationships with the Regional and Local Access leads, global functions such as Commercial, Medical, Clinical Development, Public Policy & Government Affairs personnel, among other Biogen functional colleagues.

What You’ll Do
  • Develop pricing and reimbursement strategies and effectively integrate them into product-level strategic imperatives
  • Develop payer evidence generation strategies, lead related HEOR projects, disseminate the data through publications to support overall product value proposition
  • Collaborate with Regional and Local market access teams in conducting early scientific advice, payer research, or payer advisory boards to gather payer customer insights
  • Identify environmental issues and develop mitigation strategies in the evolving competitive access landscapes
  • Interface with research & development teams to integrate payer evidence needs and incorporate effective HEOR strategies at each stage of the clinical development plan

Who You Are

You are passionate about ensuring patient access to therapies and enthusiastic about applying the related skillsets to overcome such challenges. You are comfortable with a dynamic environment and excited about working in matrix.



  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the healthcare field, including significant experience in pricing, reimbursement, outcomes research or health economics
  • In-depth understanding of the payer environment, both US and globally
  • Proficient HEOR technical skills, including modeling, patient-reported outcomes analyses, and conducting real-world outcomes studies
  • Strong written and verbal communication to effectively convey strategic and technical value and access information/issues to key stakeholders
  • Effective project management skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant area; Health Economics, Health Services Research, Public Health, Public Policy. Master’s degree or PhD in relevant area preferred.
