Job Description

BAE Systems' Countermeasure & Attack Solutions (CEMA) Business Area has an immediate opening for an experienced core systems engineer in the Advanced Compact EW Solutions Product Line. You will be responsible for the formation, maturation, and product realization of new miniature RF Systems to apply in the evolving next-generation electronic warfare battle environment. You will apply BAE Systems' broad technology base to solve complex projects as part of a cross-functional, multi-disciplinary team. Candidates must be able to clearly understand the requirements of the customer and translate them into the right technical solution.

* Collaborate with groups in the intelligence community and DoD to gather information on signals of interest and develop and Electronics Warfare techniques

* Analyze and model current and emerging commercial and military communication systems.

* Creates/Supports technical planning.

* Lead Creation and/or review of operational concepts, Develop and Document system level operational concepts

* Evaluates Alternatives and Trade Studies including cost, risk, supportability and analyses for total systems.

* Lead an in-depth technical engineering research, analysis and support translation of requirements into system design architecture by providing systems engineering guidance for multidisciplinary design teams providing allocation of requirements to engineering disciplines.

* Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of product requirements into total systems solutions.

* Developing and validating EA techniques in a laboratory environment.

* Create and Support System Level Integration, Verification and Validation of Electronic Warfare of EA techniques and Systems.

* Preparing and/or delivering technical presentations to internal and external customers.

* Creation of external and internal interface definitions

* Creation of preliminary designs

* Creation and/or review of algorithms

* Lead/Perform system build, integration, debugging and testing (hands-on product development)

* Lead/Execution of Verification and Validation tests

* Support transition from prototype to production

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

* US Citizenship required

* Must possess an Active Secret Clearance

* Eligible: for SAP/SAR Clearance

* Bachelor's Degree and 5-10 years related industry experience or equivalent experience

* BS or MS in engineering (or math/physics) is required

* Ability to think strategically and formulate strategies to solve rapidly evolving highly challenged technical problems

* Strong technical leadership, project management, and decision making skills

* Excellent written and oral communications

* Proven ability to influence internal leadership and customers with technical expertise and business perspective

* Proven ability to share and transfer technology and know-how across organizational boundaries

* Experience with hardware/software systems integration and troubleshooting required

* Experience communicating technical requirements to multi-disciplinary engineering team required

* Experience with MatLab, Mathcad or other analysis tools required

* Able to demonstrate ability to work both independently and in a team environment

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

* Master's degree in a technical field such as Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Operations Research, or Computer Science

* Proven track record developing high reliability avionics products

* Experience designing military products considered a plus

* Experience with decomposing/deriving requirements

* Experience in defining technical performance measurements

* Experience in identifying technical risks

* Experience with integration and test

* Specific skills within the domains of Electronic Warfare (EW)

* Currently hold or have the ability to obtain a Top Secret security clearance

* Experience/ Ability to analyze and model RF Capabilities

* Expert in application of emerging RF technologies
