Our location in Austin, TX is looking for a Sr. Pricing Manager to lead all efforts surrounding contract development & pricing strategy implementation across the Abbott Neuromodulation selling division.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

This role ensures that the pricing strategy for all assigned channels, product portfolios & customer segments is appropriately developed, communicated to the commercial organization & managed across the customer base. This position also oversees the development & implementation of complex customer contracts for neuromodulation while managing contract & pricing performance at all levels within the division. The Sr. Pricing Manager is expected to establish policies & standards to ensure that the business is knowledgeable of & compliant with all Abbott policies as well as any government pricing laws and regulations applicable to Medical Device transactions (price fixing, bid rigging, antitrust, etc). Implementation & maintenance of practices against these policies is an important focal point of this position in addition to providing key data into critical business decision processes intended to drive business results in alignment with divisional imperatives. This position is expected to actively provide input into the development of marketing programs and sales targeting strategies based on an understanding of divisional goals as well as market dynamics and segmentation. Basic knowledge of market pricing behaviors, competitive dynamics & changing market trends will be a key success factor in this role along with expanded knowledge of contract law with the ability to interact with Legal & Compliance functions on key contract issues is a necessary part of this role.

Main Responsibilities

Pricing Strategy:
  • Develop the overall pricing strategy with the business stakeholders for all assigned Sales Channels, all major customers & assigned product portfolios.
  • Lead efforts related to establishing new product pricing including & facilitating approval of new product pricing for new or existing Abbott customers.
  • Translate the Sales Channel pricing strategy and contract process into guidelines that can be understood by sales force and offer training when necessary.


Contract Development:
  • Oversee the contract development process for all assigned Sales Channels.
  • Develop and maintain approved contract templates and administer the process for ensuring that all changes to the templates are approved as required.
  • Provide for cross-functional teamwork for contract development and implementation.


Contract Negotiation:
  • Support all assigned sales organizations when required in direct contract negotiations for large/complex national and regional opportunities.
  • Maintain an environment that enables managing ongoing customer relationships regarding contract development by understanding and identifying customer needs and requirements.
  • Working collaboratively with the commercial sales teams to educate and learn from customers, utilizing customer knowledge to resolve issues, and recommending new approaches to meet customer needs.


Analytical Support:
  • Lead and develop the analytics relative to pricing performance across the US customer base.
  • Responsible for all assigned Sales Channels reporting requirements.
  • Develop and maintain analytical models enabling objective review, approval and ongoing reporting of contract performance.
  • Develop & manage Abbott's response to complex business arrangements & business opportunities by performing analysis of demand drivers, share position and desired partnership outcomes.


Compliance:
  • Establishes policies and standards to ensure compliance with government regulations including coordinating efforts with Legal & Compliance teams.
  • Track, analyze, and report on relevant legislation policies, which affect product utilization or relevant agreement offerings.
  • Educate and inform staff of pertinent issues related to contract terms, structures or performance.
  • Ensuring appropriate system accesses in conjunction with IT and Compliance Finance team. Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and performing other duties as assigned by management


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU'LL BRING

Required
  • Bachelors' degree in Finance, Business Administration or other relevant field required.
  • Masters' degree in similar field preferred.
  • Total combined minimum experience of six (6) years managing pricing, contracting or compliance processes in the Medical Device Industry
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills,


Preferred
  • Basic knowledge of OIG Guidance, Government Best Price, and Anti-Trust laws, preferred.
  • Experience in managing functions directly impacted by AdvaMed, OIG and high-level FDA scrutiny.
  • Knowledge of Medical Device products and sales channels (which may include one or more of the following (Managed Care, DME - Mail Order, Government, Hospital Trade/Retail and Wholesale markets).
  • Expanded knowledge of Contract Law, Pricing Regulation and standard compliance processes required.
  • Multi-level reporting & analytical experience required.
