Sr. Platform Engineer

Summary:

This role will lead the technical design and implementation of cross-functional, multi-platform application systems with a focus on delivering efficient, reliable, resilient, scalable, and high performing solutions. The underlying product is a vendor based solution out of Silicon Valley that specializes in OCR, data extraction, and document classification. We've engineered an abstraction layer to make those services available to the broader Commercial Banking Technology ecosystem. This role would focus on managing that platform to stay compliant with enterprise standards as well as drive new customer adoption in partnership with our product team. The candidate is accountable for partnering with various teams (internal and 3rd party technical teams) in identifying options, driving reviews and detailed analysis, developing solutions and providing technical direction. This position is apeople management role responsible for managing a medium sized platform.

General Responsibilities:
  • Manages complex troubleshooting efforts that cross multiple platforms and technical disciplines
  • Strong understanding of the business. Able to quickly understand business needs and translate these needs into technical solutions
  • Develops standard patterns and solutions to increase design and implementation efficiency
  • Identifies and implements automation opportunities
  • Very strong communication skills to interact and lead strategy across IT internally, third party vendors, and business partners
  • Learn & analyze complex, interconnected business processes / systems quickly
  • Drive forward decisions / solutions for core IT teams based off of technical specs
  • Lead teams that manage multiple tasks / projects in a fast-paced and changing environment
  • Focus on reuse, scalability, resilience and performance of the solution
  • Remove technical impediments / obstacles and lead teams to find creative solutions
  • Educate team members (including BSAs, Scrum Masters and Product Owners) on capabilities and constraints of technology platforms
  • Consistently share best practices and improve processes within and across sprint teams
  • Supervise an engineering team of 4-5 people


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in fields such as Computer Science, Information Systems, or Engineering
  • At least 6 years of engineering experience
  • At least 4 years of people management experience
  • At least 3 years of experience with full life cycle implementations of a system, application, or service component


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in fields such as Computer Science, Information Systems, or Engineering
  • 5+ years of people management experience
  • 4+ years of experience with full life cycle implementations of a system, application, or service component
  • 2+ years of experience in Agile practices
  • At least 1 year experience with cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)
