Job Summary

For the Project Management Office (PMO); Project Controls organization, the Project Controls Analyst - Cost / Schedule, will possess skills and expertise in both project cost and scheduling.
Employee will support the Project Management team to provide effective integrated project cost and schedule monitoring, tracking, budget variance, forecasting, project scheduling of key milestones, and provide cost and schedule reports.
This position will report to the Supervisor of Project Controls - Cost & Schedule - IP/ OP (Inside Plant and Outside Plant).
The successful candidate will achieve the desired results of the T&D organization through the strict adherence of the T&D Process and Procedures, PSEGLI Standards and the use of PSEGLI Values and Behavioral Standards, sound management practice, skills and a total commitment to teamwork.

The position is a growth series (Grade Level 24 – 27) typically posted at the lowest level. The title, grade level and incentive target assigned to the successful candidate will be determined based upon the skills and relevant experience of the candidate learned through the interview process.

Job Responsibilities

  • Prepare, maintain & submit monthly P&C budget variance analyses and forecasts using SAP.
  • Develop project plans & specific cash flows based on work scope.
  • Create, release & maintain project WBS / Power Plant structure in SAP.
  • Coordinate & maintain monthly cost data & reports in Excel or Access
  • Update project forecasts or other requested project financial / status reports.
  • Prepare URB Documentation (PCRs, PP slides, waterfalls, etc) for project cash flow approvals.
  • Develop, maintain, update and monitor project schedules and work plans in accordance with the Scheduling Procedure.
  • Develop, coordinate and maintain financial, schedule, estimate, budget, resource, procurement, risk and other data within Primavera P6. (Corporate Standard Scheduling Tool)
  • Provide monthly closeout of projects in SAP
  • Provide monthly updates to NEDLI.(New equipment database Long Island)
  • Provide monthly updates to the CWIP (Construction work in progress) aging reports to meet department and corporate deliverables and deadlines.
  • Provide storm restoration support as required by the Emergency Restoration Organization


Job Specific Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Business, Finance, or Construction OR an Associate’s Degree or 2 years of university level course work, preferably in Business, Finance, or Construction and 3 years in finance or utility construction.

• Experience with relevant software such as Microsoft Office products and possess the ability to quickly learn new systems and applications.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills are necessary to effectively interface and communicate with people at all levels and across organizations.
• Demonstrated personal accountability and excellent organizational skills to deliver performance excellence.
• Must possess and maintain a valid U.S. driver's license and a safe and satisfactory driving history.

Desired Qualifications:
• Utility Experience
• Construction Experience
• Basic knowledge and experience with electric transmission and distribution systems.
• Knowledge of LIPA’s (Long Island Power Authority) business operations, policies, and practices.
• Knowledge of Project Management (PMO) practices and understanding of corporate finance & budget practices is preferable.
• Experience in project scheduling and cost management.
