Are you our next Team Member?

We are currently seeking a Process Control Engineer at our Esterhazy K1, SK location. The successful candidate will be a subject matter expert on control systems, advanced process control strategies and process measurement technologies. This role will focus on the Business Unit automation initiatives at the Esterhazy site and cooperate with the Process Engineering/Process Controls groups at the site to recommend, develop and implement basic control strategies, aid in selection of process monitoring technologies, recommend advanced process control schemes and strategies around alarm management.

What will you be working on?
  • Develop advanced process control strategies for the site's automation initiatives and projects. Lead field testing and optimization of the projects.
  • Assist in developing new automation project scopes in cooperation with the site operational team.
  • Conduct routine assessments of each Esterhazy's process control systems, focusing on loop health and effectiveness of control strategies. Provide recommendations and aids in implementation to issues identified.
  • Participate in the Potash Business Unit automation initiatives as required. Develop technical presentations to review at site and Potash Business Unit events.
  • Assist in risk reduction at the site through improving safety of equipment and control systems.

What is required for this role?
  • Bachelors or Masters of Science in Engineering with a major in either chemical or electrical is preferred.
  • P.Eng is required.
  • Masters in Science is preferred.
  • 5-7 years of experience in a mineral processing environment with focus on process or process control engineering. Must be familiar with basic and advanced process control strategies. Must have a working familiarity with both PLC and DCS control systems as well as industry standard alarm management practices.
  • Must have general knowledge of personal computers and standard office productivity software.
  • Must have well developed communication and interpersonal skills. Must be capable of conveying technical information to varying audience. Must be capable of functioning as a member or leading of dynamic multidiscipline teams and also on an independent basis.
  • Employment is subject to successfully completing Mosaic's pre-employment checks including criminal, drug and alcohol testing.
  • Must be authorized to work in Canada.
