Software Development Engineer I - .NET

Role Value Proposition:

MetLife's Investments Division is seeking a seasoned hands-on IT professional with broad IT and Business experience for its Real Estate Technology team. The candidate will work closely with the Front Office Portfolio and Asset managers and the Technology and Operation groups on the suite of applications in support of an approximate $22B Agriculture portfolio. The candidate will be required to provide business analysis and hands-on technical leadership across the team and partner closely with the Real Estate Business. Will build strong relationships and collaborate with our business partners on the development and implementation of application systems, acting as a primary liaison between business users/BAs and IT project team. . Is responsible for detailed technical design and development of applications using existing and emerging technology platforms.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Converts specifications about business problems into programming instructions.
  • Leads planning, organizing and implementing of application development projects that are medium to large in size and/or complexity.
  • Reviews, analyzes, and modifies programming systems, including encoding, testing, debugging
  • Follows approved SAFe Agile methodology, ensuring that all required steps are followed, all required deliverables are produced, and all approvals are obtained.
  • Conducts project meetings and is responsible for project planning, tracking and analysis. Provides technical and analytical support and guidance to project team members.
  • Design use cases, functional specifications, reports screen prototypes.
  • Designs and codes programs; creates test transactions and runs tests; revises as necessary.
  • Facilitate functional requirements walkthroughs and respond to Test team ambiguity review questions.
  • Contribute to user guides, reference manuals, training materials and code release artifacts as appropriate.

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

Required :
  • Bachelor's degree required, major in related field preferred - computer science, engineering, MIS/CIS
  • 2+ years of hands on experience with Microsoft development platform including C#, ASP.Net, .Net Core, SQL server, SSRS, SSIS, SSAS
  • Familiar with Agile development
  • Strong communication skills - oral & written
