Fullstack Software Development Engineer II

We are seeking a Full Stack Developer, with a strong emphasis on security, in the US Application Development Shared Services department to help support the continual technical innovation of the organization. The full stack developer role requires knowledge in various aspects of product development, with an emphasis on understanding the security aspects of technical solutions. As a member of the Shared Services organization, you will be in a position to influence multiple facets of the overall organization, including the security of a broad portfolio of applications. An ideal candidate should be prepared to think critically about what is being built and why, believe that the best product is one that supports our customers, and is constantly looking to grow and learn.

Key Responsibilities:

As a full stack developer, you will have the opportunity to:
  • Function at all levels of the SDLC, both Agile and Waterfall, covering activities such as requirements gathering and management, code development, platform integration, and software testing
  • Guide security flaw remediation efforts, improving and enhancing security in applications
  • Implement security controls in a CI/CD pipeline, enhancing a DevSecOps approach
  • Work closely with technical teams (internal and vendor) to gain in-depth knowledge of system architectures and coordinate integration of functionality
  • Support product sustainability by creating clear documentation at all levels, from high-level strategies, to integration design patterns and technical specifications


Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

Required:
  • 4+ years of experience with general application development in .NET or Java
  • Experience with various forms of security evaluation such as SAST, SCA, DAST, ethical hacking, OWASP Top Ten
  • Experience developing in the Agile methodology using CI/CD tooling
  • Experience in risk analysis and management methodologies as they relate to software engineering and integrations
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Security, or related field

Preferred:
  • Experience with integrating API Security (OAuth, JWTs, OpenID)
  • Familiarity with implementing RESTful APIs in SpringBoot
  • Experience with Cloud-native solutions on IaaS / PaaS solutions - preferably Azure
  • Familiarity with life insurance / workplace benefits products
