As Product Owner, you will be an active member of the Agile Product Team responsible for owning, maintaining, and prioritizing product backlogs. This role will collaborate with the Scrum Master, development team, and business stakeholders to develop iterative roadmaps and decompose the product vision into features and stories. The Product Owner is empowered by the business to make decisions to assure the delivery of product value through incremental development cycles. Additionally, the Product Owner is responsible for streamlining the execution of Scrum team priorities while maintaining the vision and integrity of features and stories on behalf of the business. As Product Owner, you will enforce quality controls and be solely responsible in accepting stories as done.

This role requires strong analytical skills, the ability to build cross-functional relationships, and a desire to quickly develop deep subject matter expertise in the business services and customer perspectives. Working in an agile environment, this position nimbly partners across operational, clinical, and functional areas of the company to define requirements and drive to value-based releases.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with Business stakeholders, Product Operations teams and Technology Development teams to ensure customer problems are solved in a manner that enables a measurable positive experience or outcome
  • Elicit business requirements from stakeholders; document business requirements; identify problems that need to be solved; understand stakeholder pain points, and any roadblocks to growth
  • Proactively communicate with business stakeholders to bring alignment and awareness to the product backlog, adjust priorities where necessary, and ensure the business teams can prepare for and participate in feature releases that have operational impact
  • Develop strong working knowledge of the industry, client, and key stakeholder trends; leverage this information to support the continuous improvement of business services with custom built solutions or integrations
  • Author features and stories aligned with product vision and business objectives
  • Work closely with solutions architects, data architects, and broader development resources to jointly design and define solutions
  • Represent the voice of the business to development teams, groom Product backlog, prioritize features, manage acceptance criteria, participate in daily scrum activities, and maximize Product value, participate in sprint / PI planning, and coordinate deliverable demonstrations to stakeholders
  • Understand data privacy and government regulations

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of Healthcare Services or Pharmacy Services related business analysis and product development experience
  • 3+ years of experience writing features/user stories, requirements, testing and collaborating with Development/Engineering teams
  • 3+ years working knowledge of system development life cycle concepts and agile methodology
  • Experience managing Agile development backlogs against business portfolio roadmaps
  • Experience translating business processes and translate into product requirements
  • Experience working in a matrix environment, working collaboratively and influencing others
  • Experience creating organized visuals for stakeholders
  • Experience working with Agile development tools such as Rally Software or similar platforms (formerly CA Agile Central), AHA, Azure DevOps
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and demonstrated ability to easily learn and adopt new technology tools

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working within a PBM or Managed Care
  • Experience mentoring junior level colleagues on writing features, user stories, requirements, and acceptance criteria
  • Demonstrated experience in working with high volume, rules-based platforms and data driven tools (i.e., Ab Initio) and ETL processes

Colorado Residents Only: The salary/hourly range for Colorado residents is $79,700 to $142,600. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
