A Brief Overview
The Stanford Health Care Web Strategy Manager will direct and lead the definition, strategy and execution of new website features and functionalities for digital site that are part of Stanford Health Care's network of care. These include:
stanfordhealthcare.org, stanfordhealthcarealliance.org, stanfordhealthcareadvantage.org, uha.org, valleycare.com, and more as
the network expands. The Web Strategy Manager will advance the understanding of the needs of prospective patients and referring physicians to determine the optimal website experience that will drive an increase in the number of Stanford Health Care patients. The Manager will lead and drive the coordination and program-manage cross-functional teams (design, tech, content) to
bring these new features and functionality to market. In addition, he/she will work closely with the VP Innovation and IT to provide a seamless experience for SHC's portfolio of new virtual health care products.

What you will do
  • Drives new features and enhancements for prospective patients and referring physicians that help them to connect with Stanford Health Care physician and/or clinic.
  • Develops the web strategy through user research, consumer segmentation, competitive assessments and alignment with business priorities.
  • Establishes feature roadmaps and release plans behind compelling business cases.
  • Directs the agency team in creating the optimal user experience and design.
  • Manages overall program budget and contracts to ensure efficient use of time and money.
  • Collaborates with the IT team to ensure alignment of functionality/design with technology capabilities.
  • Leads the creation of backlogs and compelling user stories.
  • Is a key participant in agile product development driven by IT.
  • Must be well versed in both traditional and agile product development and project management methodologies such as SCRUM.
  • Leads a cross-functional team (design, content, web operations, technical) interacting with key clinical and business stakeholders.

  • Develops presentations of the research, strategy and business cases to the CEO, CSO and CIO.
  • Identifies key metrics and develops dashboards/reports on feature usage and performance.
  • Provides recommendations for evolution/optimization based on this data.

Education Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a work-related field Required

Experience Qualifications
  • Ten (10) + years of progressively responsible directly related work experience Required

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Deep knowledge of highly complex consumer websites.
  • Experience in the assessment of user needs, competitive offerings and consumer segmentation.
  • Skilled in analytical and strategic thinking.
  • Able to define feature strategy and roadmap.
  • Extensive experience in managing UI/UX design and agency management.
  • Knowledge of the latest in web technologies.
  • Able to create compelling business cases.
  • Strong Program Management skills to ensure coordination among scrum master leads in content, web operations, design and tech teams.
  • Works well in a highly matrixed organization.
  • Knowledge of the agile product development process and specifically SCRUM methodology.
  • Can easily prioritize across a large number of competing initiatives and able to multi-task and drive multiple projects.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with the ability to develop high level senior executive presentations.
