DeltaV DCS Software and Infrastructure

This position focuses on DeltaV Distributed Control System application software and system infrastructure support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accountable for designing, configuring and maintaining the Process Automation System software applications in the Manufacturing Facilities in Devens, MA.
  • Lead process automation system software design standard development, architect design, configuration, integration and test.
  • Lead or Participate in cross functional teams (system integrators, contractors, end users) to develop the design requirement specifications, test plans and protocols for Automation Software applications.
  • Lead or perform Process Automation System Administration activities.
  • Lead or manage automation systems capital projects
  • Provide technical supervision, guidance and/or training to automation engineers within the group
  • Managing internal stakeholders to address operational issues related to Process Automation software applications
  • Lead or initiate Process Automation System continuous improvement to improve operational robustness and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with global BMS manufacturing sites to develop and share good practices in Automation system design, automation procedure and business processes.

For People Manager:
  • Manage a team of Automation Engineer
  • Participate in and ensure employee development

Qualifications & Experience

  • BS in Chemical Engineering, a related engineering field or its equivalent.
  • Distributed control systems software design experience in batch operation following ISA 88/ISA95 standard
  • Experience on automation validation (DeltaV, MES, PI) in GMP environment that includes test script generation and execution.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Pharmaceutical or Biotechnology industries
  • Experience on Manufacturing Execution System (Syncade) preferable.
  • Experience on OSI PI data historian applications is preferable.
  • Experience on Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) preferable.
  • Experience in executing Factory Acceptance Tests, supporting commissioning activities (hardware loop checks, cabinet testing) required.
  • Experience on change control management, deviation logs, and investigation under FDA regulated environment is required.
  • Understanding of engineering documentation such as P&IDs, process flow diagrams and standard operating procedures.
  • Strong leadership skills in managing stakeholders and influencing co-workers.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Strong communication skills including oral and formal presentations.
  • Strong project management skills in defining and executing automation related projects
  • Ability to troubleshoot control systems from field element up through operator interfaces and databases is preferred.
  • Experience with control system networking technologies and PC networking technology preferred but not required.
  • Experience working with SQL, Server, Oracle, or other relational databases preferred but not required.
  • Experience with Visual Basic scripting preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work independently
