Job Description

Designs, develops, and implements testing methods and equipment. Plans and arranges the labor, schedules, and equipment required for testing and evaluating standard and special devices. Provides test area with parameters for sample testing and specifies tests to be performed. Compiles data and defines changes required in testing equipment, testing procedures, manufacturing processes, or new testing requirements. Responsible for testing all customer samples and for special tests that cannot be performed in the test area.

Basic Qualifications

This position requires a BS in Engineering from an ABET accredited school of engineering or equivalent and 6 years or more of progressive technical and/or supervisory experience in research, engineering, and design or equivalent. A candidate for nuclear systems test or nuclear refueling supervision may gain such experience through the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program. A MS in Engineering and professional registration are preferable. An incumbent must have a comprehensive knowledge of engineering/design processes relating to ship systems, a comprehensive understanding of ship construction processes, understanding of company business management principles and have demonstrated the ability to manage and direct the work of others.
