2021 is an exciting year for Novartis as we accelerate our growth in the digital space! Aligned with the bold Novartis aspiration of transforming the way in which our commercial teams engage with their customers, the Next Generation Engagement (NGE) initiatives will need broad commercial awareness and activation across US Pharma.

The Director of Omni-Channel Effectiveness role will work alongside the global and franchise stakeholders to develop and implement the communication, training, and pull through efforts needed to drive this organizational change. This role will drive strategy alignment with Sales and Marketing executive leadership, lead franchise deployment efforts, and implement a measurement framework to track and enhance program performance. Maintaining an enterprise mindset will be critical for this role to ensure we work as one in this important organizational evolution.

This is a remote opportunity. This position can be based remotely anywhere in the U.S. (there may be some exceptions based on legal entity registration). Please note that this role would not provide relocation as a result. The expectation of working hours and travel (domestic and/or international) will be defined by the hiring manager.

This role will include key responsibilities, including but not limited to:
• Drive strategic alignment with marketing and sales leadership on deployment prioritization and approach of NGE initiatives
• Align with global and local NGE partners on communication and field activation plan and oversee design and delivery across all targeted audiences in US Pharma
• Inform development and design for 360 Customer View project ensuring end-user perspective is embedded in process and optimized for impact
• Fully enable our field teams to make real time, impactful decisions powered by the Decision Engine framework using technology and AI
• Build NGE initiative launch playbook for continued US Pharma deployment phases
• Establish field force network to inform on design elements, pilot early phase testing, share real-time feedback, and drive local adoption post launch
• Proactively monitor business performance and execution; identify issues/opportunities and recommend solutions/course correction tactics as needed in conjunction with Commercial Acceleration team leads
• Ensure stakeholder alignment across field and marketing leadership in implementing and tracking field-driven initiatives
• Serve as liaison to the Commercial Acceleration functional delivery teams for escalation of support needs, new projects, or new process recommendations to ensure field satisfaction and performance for the franchise
• Create and manage processes to streamline workflow, adapts to continuous changes, prioritizes tasks, and stays ahead of the planning process
• Lead or co-lead special initiatives and projects to drive key business results (through strong project planning and management)

Minimum requirements

What You’ll Bring to the Role:
• Bachelor's degree
• 7+ years plus of commercial sales and marketing related experience
• 2+ years sales management experience
• Demonstrates strong competencies in operations, execution and project management
• Strong analytical skills and critical thinking to diagnosis business issues and incorporate into development or adjustment of strategies, plans and tactics to achieve business objectives
• Excellent business/commercial acumen needed; demonstrates ability to self-start, initiate and to deal with ambiguities
• Experienced in establishing and cultivating relationships; able to collaborate effectively with key stakeholders and partners across the organization
• Uses diverse and varied approaches to persuade, negotiate and influence operational decisions
• Ability to work effectively as an individual contributor and in a team structure; maintain strong cross-functional ties with key business partners
