Job Summary

The Salesforce Center of Excellence Team is focused on optimizing Salesforce solutions and maximizing value across the enterprise. Salesforce is an enterprise platform targeted to help accelerate our transformation program, enable innovation, and help realize our vision for a reimagined healthcare system. Our team works cross-functionally to link our key business strategies and initiatives with our platform roadmap and day-to-day operations. We are responsible for driving critical business and vendor alignment, defining and executing the enterprise product roadmap, and maintaining operational excellence.

Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Salesforce Center of Excellence, the role of the Manager, Salesforce Administration is critical to the success of the Salesforce COE team in achieving operational excellence and optimizing business value. This individual will be accountable for managing and delivering system administration, business configuration, user management, and platform optimization strategy.

Responsibilities
  • Management of direct team (~5-10 employees) responsible for Salesforce platform administration, configuration, and user management.
  • Establishes operational objectives for department or functional area and participates with other managers to establish group objectives.
  • Responsible for providing guidance, coaching, upskilling, and training to employees inside and outside direct team.
  • Builds and matures team roles and responsibilities as platform and team scope expands.
  • Monitor on-going performance and communicate expectations and results.
  • Demonstrates BSC Leadership Behaviors.
  • Communicates effectively at all levels of leadership.
  • Has responsibilities for communicating with vendors external to the organization.
  • Documents team process and procedures.
  • Works closely with business and IT leadership to drive alignment and process improvement.
  • Responsible for improving processes, training, and tools to enhance performance of the team and platform.
  • Cultivates collaboration between business and IT for optimal delivery and developer operations.
  • Works to achieve operational targets with direct impact on departmental results.
  • Accountable for the overall administration and maintenance of the salesforce platform.
  • Builds and maintains the strategy for Salesforce license management, profile and role hierarchy, technical clean up, report management.
  • Evaluate priorities and trade-offs between initiative size and complexity, cost, urgency, risk, and stakeholder value.
  • Continuously builds expertise in salesforce administration, products and operational best practice.




Qualifications

Knowledge and Experience
  • Typically, requires a college degree or equivalent experience.
  • 7 years prior relevant experience, including 3 years of management experience gained as a team leader, supervisor or project/program manager.
  • Salesforce experience required.
  • In-depth knowledge of salesforce products and their functionalities.
  • Experience in Product Management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Highly skilled in interpersonal and verbal/written communications, presentations, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Understands basic management approaches such as work scheduling, prioritizing, coaching and process execution, work organization, risk management and delegation.
  • Understands Blue Shield of CA's mission and business plan.
  • Has functional expertise within the area of responsibility.
  • Typically, requires advanced knowledge of job area usually obtained through advanced education combined with experience.
  • Desired project management, business analysis (IIBA), or lean sigma certifications.

Office Environment - roles involving part to full time schedule in Office Environment. Based in our physical offices and work from home office/deskwork - Activity level: Sedentary, frequency most of work day.
