VP, Global Franchise Lead, Breast Cancer and Precision Medicine

ROLE SUMMARY

At Pfizer Oncology, we are committed to advancing transformative medicines wherever we can make a profound difference on the lives of patients. Today, Pfizer Oncology has an industry-leading portfolio of 24 approved cancer medicines including breast, prostate, kidney, lung and hematology. We also have one of the deepest oncology biosimilars pipelines with medicines approved globally and several assets in mid to late-stage development for the treatment of cancer or as supportive care.

This individual will be a member of the Oncology Leadership Team and guide the Global Franchise group for our Breast Cancer and Precision Medicine portfolio , partnering cross-functionally with Medical, Commercial Development, GPD, PHI, PGS and all Enabling Functions, as well as with NA and IDM Regions and Countries to co-create a plan that will bring our medicines to patients over the lifecycle of our therapies. Key inline medicines in the Franchise include IBRANCE, LORBRENA and BRAFTOVI/MEKTOVI. Key pipeline programs include ARV-471 and our next-generation of CDK inhibitors. Key lifecycle programs include IBRANCE for HR+/HER2+ mBC (PATINA), and BRAFTOVI/MEKTOVI expansion in melanoma and non-small cell lung cancer.

This role is a great opportunity for a strong leader to shape, define and execute the strategies some of Pfizer's most important current and future medicines. Overall revenue accountability is $7B for this portfolio.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead the team and co-create the global commercial strategies for the specific franchise, positioning Pfizer for success
  • Co-create and model launch excellence for existing markets gaining access to new markets
  • Lead the development of forecasts, plans, strategies and operational commitments (Op Plan) to ensure adequate supply and delivery
  • Lead the preparation of a successful evidence-based, patients first strategies to successfully differentiate and defend against competitors
  • Lead the franchise Glocal Core team by providing commercial leadership, strategic guidance, and innovative approaches
  • Build a high performing team through the ability to attract, engage, coach and develop the best talent while modeling our Values of Courage, Excellence, Equity and Joy
  • Collaborate and provide thought leadership within the team but also across the Oncology business on innovative models to enhance our growth opportunities
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with all key regions and functions, including but not limited to medical, research, PGS, legal, finance, and regulatory
  • Participate and contribute as an active, enterprise leader in the Oncology Leadership Team


QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum 15 years of successful marketing/commercial experience in the pharmaceutical industry, preferably at the global and local levels
  • Demonstrated strategic marketing and analytical thinking skills
  • Prior launch experience highly desired
  • Experience in working successfully in a highly competitive environment strongly desired
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams through setting a common vision and purpose, influence and persuasion
  • An absolute commitment to adherence to all applicable compliance rules and regulations
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively work on multiple tasks with a strong sense of urgency and enthusiasm while prioritizing and meeting team goals
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead others through times of change
  • Experience with the US market is highly preferred
  • Oncology experience preferred, but not required
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or other advanced degree preferred


ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS

This role is instrumental in the business unit and ex- business unit matrix. Critical interactions will include the Regional Presidents, Glocal Teams and Work Teams, Oncology Country Leads, Country Managers, Global and Local Medical Teams, Global and Local Patient & Health Impact teams, PGS, Policy, Regulatory, Legal, and Finance. External interactions will primarily occur with KOLs and at Ad Boards / Conferences / Symposia.

RESOURCES MANAGED

Financial Accountability

Responsible for overall strategy for given franchise with approximately ~7B of annual revenue. Manage the global marketing budget.

Supervision

Will directly lead a team of over 20 Glocal marketers supporting the given Oncology franchise and the cross BU capability. Will directly lead the Glocal Team which includes matrixed colleagues from Medical, the local markets, PHI and other supporting functions.

NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS

Ability to travel approximately 30% of the time
