Job Description

This position is for Engineering Manager 2 of CVN 68 Class Advanced Electrical Systems group in the Reactor Plant Planning Yard. Responsible for the direct supervision/management of multiple engineers. This group supports ShipAlt development, life cycle maintenance, obsolescence resolution, and fleet support via LAR resolution for the Instrumentation and Control systems in the A4W Reactor and Propulsion Plants. Frequent contacts with internal personnel and outside customer representatives at NAVSEA 08 and Naval Nuclear Laboratories concerning technical resolutions, cost, and scheduling is required.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited school of engineering and 6 years of progressive technical experience in research, engineering, and design or equivalent. A Master's of Science degree in Engineering and professional registration with 4 years of relevant experience are preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

This position requires a BSEE from an ABET accredited university. The preferred candidate will have experience in the design of shipboard electric control systems, LAN systems, and Interior Communication systems. An ideal candidate will also have specific experience with Electric Throttle Control Systems, Reactor Plant Instrumentation and Control Systems and Propulsion Plant Systems.
