The Field Medical Excellence Director will lead and drive Field Medical Excellence (FME) ensuring the execution of Field Medical strategic plans, launch readiness for the key products including MSL deployment, tools, and resources, and key systems and processes in collaboration with Field Medical Excellence leadership team (FMELT), Global FME group, and medical units (MUs).

Your responsibilities will include:

•Guide and ensure the implementation of an effective Field Medical organization in the United States (US), in alignment with the Global FME function and vision. Guide and influence in the development of strategic MSL plans and ensure alignment with other functions and franchises. Guide local medical science liaison (MSL) and regional director of MSLs (RDM) objective setting and support assessment.
•Serve as US liaison for global FME and oncology FME. Facilitate best practice sharing and collaboration across national directors (ND) and to other countries.
•Provide a strategic framework for alignment of Field Medical and operational excellence to support consistency in execution across the field medical and population health and account management (PHAM) teams.
•Create efficiencies and consistencies through central operations for field medical.
•Responsible for maintaining, updating and educating field medical colleagues on the working practice document (WPD), ensuring activities are adherent to policies and processes
•Partner and collaborate with relevant internal stakeholders (e.g., NDs, global FME, RDMs, legal, ethics & compliance) on implementation of field medical initiatives.
•Onboard and train new hires on non-therapeutic topics, such as policies and Veeva CRM. Coordinate new hire onboarding and off boarding in collaboration with FME team and field medical capabilities (FMC) lead.
•Provide guidance and counsel to Field Medical associates and stakeholders to ensure all activities are conducted according to policies and standards.
•Ensure the identification and implementation of effective field-related technology/digital/IT enablers and lead technology enhancements.

Minimum requirements

•MD, PhD, or PharmD, or equivalent advanced degree in healthcare, and business degree desirable
•Proven record of 5+ strategic leadership experience in the global pharmaceutical or biotech industry, with preference in Medical Affairs or Clinical Development.
•Strong cross-functional collaboration skills and stakeholder management.
•Advanced understanding of the US healthcare landscape.
•Proven enterprise mindset including innovative, solutions-oriented, critical thinking with a performance driven approach to meet current and anticipate future objectives and challenges.
•Documented demonstration of an effective, organized, and disciplined approach to work, following procedures while constructively streamlining processes.
•Thorough comprehension and application of internal/external ethical guidelines relevant to the pharmaceutical industry as well as policies specific to field medical.
•Experienced in strategic planning and alignment.
•Ability to work across multiple therapeutic areas.
•Strong personal integrity and teamwork abilities are necessary.

This position can be based remotely anywhere in the U.S. (there may be some exceptions based on legal entity registration). Please note that this role would not provide relocation as a result.
