Summary of Job Duties:

The Accounts Receivable Accountant is responsible for reconciling various loan programs, including Perkins, NFLP, and institutional emergency loans. This position also reconciles various clearing accounts including Bookstore, payroll deduction, and more. In addition, this position reconciles various financial aid type accounts, including the outside scholarship account and others. The Accounts Receivable Accountant has the responsibility for handling the administration of student health insurance charged on accounts and other duties as assigned is also expected.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job function of this job, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.


Qualifications:


Minimum Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree in general business, business management, or a related field from an accredited institution of higher education
  • At least three years of experience in fiscal operations


Applicable equivalencies may be considered for education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting from an accredited institution of higher education
  • Experience with the University of Arkansas systems: Workday, UAConnect, and CashNET
  • Experience working in higher education
  • Experience with student financials in higher education


Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and database management
  • Knowledge of software applications
  • Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and policies of assigned section
  • Knowledge of customer service techniques
  • Ability to comprehend and assimilate technical and business-related documents
  • Ability to apply policies and procedures and other applicable regulations associated with assigned department or program
  • Ability to conduct research, perform quantitative quality assurance reviews, and prepare reports
  • Able to communicate using clear communication skills which could include but not be limited to the following methods: personal face-to-face contact; using e-mail or other written correspondence; and through telephone contact
