Material Expediter (HAZMAT)

Material Expediter (HAZMAT) processes truck loads (TLs), less than truck loads (LTLs), air clearances and Small Package shipments utilizing the following systems: CMOS, ETA, and TGET. Verifies Transportation Account Code (TAC) documents as required. After receipt of necessary information for shipments, contacts Commercial carriers either by telephone (most used) or email to begin the selection process for low cost Transportation Service Providers (TSPs). Once TSPs are chosen for the mission, communicates specifics of the mission i.e. date, time, location, type of equipment required, etc. to Shipping/Receiving Clerks for processing. Receives list of drivers as a confirmation from the TSP and then assists in processing the Commercial Bill of Lading (CBL) for movement as needed. During loading, the Material Expediter visually confirms the load is assigned to the proper TSP at the ramp. After loading cargo, signatures are obtained from the Commercial driver. A packet of information on the movement is created for use as documentation for timely payment to TSPs. As required, processes air clearance of cargo through CMOS.
