The Senior Specialist, SCCI, will be responsible for the implementation of global continuous improvement projects and strategies within the BMS Cell Therapy Development and Operations (CTDO) organization, focused on Quality Assurance & Quality Control. Key strategic areas for results are “right first time” performance, speed to patients, cost of goods, productivity, and a continuous improvement culture.

K ey Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead kaizen workshops as well as resultant activities and projects to implement lean solutions to business problems and remove waste from the Cell Therapy Value Stream.
  • Drive results and maintain strategic scorecards and dashboards, best practices in business processes, and operational excellence principles and systems development and deployment.
  • Drive short term initiatives in the CTDO Organization that drive operational excellence in daily activities with global alignment of standard work packages.
  • Increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the organization through fostering cross functional relationships, decreasing redundant work, and development of continuous improvement strategies.
  • Lead and facilitate Quality value stream mapping, process mapping, and SIPOCs.
  • Establish and maintain best practices in areas of business processes, KPIs, and analytics including visual management systems.


Qualifications,Knowledge and Skills Required:
  • 3+ years’ experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or scientific related discipline required. MBA or advanced degree preferred
  • Lean Six Sigma Certification, Green or Black Belt or Equivalent
  • Direct experience leading and supporting operational excellence transformations in a pharmaceutical or a related regulated industry, is required. Direct experience with Quality Management Systems is a plus.
  • PMP Certification preferred
  • Proficiency in MS Project, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and Visio
  • Up to ~30% travel (domestic and International)


Competencies:
  • Ability to work in a Global Environment with experience executing and leading projects on continuous improvement, Lean, Six Sigma, and operational excellence.
  • Must be skilled in critical thinking with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Expertise in project management principles and application including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and evaluate priorities.
  • Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) as related to Pharmaceutical and Biotech Manufacturing.
  • Must possess strong verbal and communication skills, and a well-developed ability to constructively work across matrix functional areas and levels to achieve results.
  • Demonstrated ability to recognize issues, highlight risks and prioritize workload based on goals
  • Excellent time management & organizational skills along with a proven ability to multi-task
  • Ability to challenge the status quo with a growth mindset
