Become a Senior Project Manager (Sr PM) in the Transmission Construction and Technical Support (C&TS) Project Management organization (PMO) organization at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of complex initiatives and various capital programs/projects such as Grid Capital Maintenance, customer relocations, Rule 20 B's /C's, and Transmission Infrastructure Replacement program/projects. These multi-million-dollar, multi-year programs/projects have high visibility and are high risk relative to operations and finance. The Sr PM position involves collaborating with large teams across multiple business lines, cross functional departments, regulatory and government entities. The Sr PM also deals with senior and executive level management, has a greater autonomy for finance and risk, and deals with multiple critical and/or political, risk laden programs/projects at once. A Sr PM can manage programs/projects and people and may do so depending on need or as directed. Sr PM's work well under pressure and are comfortable with change and complexity in dynamic environments, shifting easily between the "Big Picture" and the small but critical/crucial details.   • Demonstrate a functional acumen to support how solutions will address client goals while maintaining alignment with industry best practices.
  • Manage project scope and changes to orders due to scope or field conditions.
  • Participate and/or drive feasibility studies, vendor selections and proposals for evaluation by appropriate key stakeholders.
  • Manage ongoing quality control and participate in quality issue resolution.
  • Assist in dispute, negotiation, arbitration, or litigation, as needed.
  • Support formal/informal schedules to manage the engagement contract when using contract services or EPC project.
  • Participate to define the Statement of Work and Specifications for the requested goods and services when using contract services or EPC project.
  • Develop and manage all aspects of project and program engagement from planning, external vendor relationships, communications, resources, budget, change, risks, and issues.
  • Set and continually manage project and program expectations while delegating and managing deliverable with team members and stakeholders.
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation and presentations to various audiences, including project team, sponsors, and key stakeholders.
  • Determine the frequency and content of status reports from the project and program team, analyze results and troubleshoot through anticipation of problem areas (legal, environmental, rights, etc.).
  • Define success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout project and program life cycle.
  • Deliver appropriate and effective senior leadership and executive level communication.
  • Ensure that programs/projects are proceeding according to scope, schedule, budget and quality standards.
  • Continue professional development in order to keep abreast of emerging technologies, methods and best practices.
  • Extensive understanding of project and program management principles, methods, and techniques.
  • Monitor the performance of project team enlisting senior management as may be needed to meet milestones and deliverables, changing of team members and similar needs.
  • Establish practices, templates, policies, tools, and partnerships to expand and mature these capabilities for the department, business unit or organization.
  • Lead the development and execution of complex programs/projects with potentially significant financial risks, customer risks, brand risks and/or significant regulatory complexity, including scope development, siting, permitting, project execution strategy, procurement, engineering, construction, testing and closeout.
Qualifications

The essentials
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Ten or more years of project management.

The preferred
  • Project Management Certificate.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
  • Experience with budgeting and forecasting.
  • Experience with scheduling tools such as Primavera, Microsoft Schedule.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Programs such as Word, Excel, Power Point, and Access.
  • Experience developing and delivering presentations on programs/projects to leadership.
