Job Description

As a valued leader on the team, you will manage data infrastructure and pipelines to capture, integrate, organize, and centralize data while testing and maintaining to ensure data is readily accessible and in a usable state, including quality assurance.

The Enterprise Data - Data Engineering - Manager role will offer you the flexibility to make each day your own, while working alongside people who care so that you can deliver on the following responsibilities:
  • Manage customer needs and intended uses for requested data in the development of database requirements and planning of enterprise databases.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of database technologies, complex coding languages, and computer system skills.
  • Review and integrate data into readily available formats while maintaining existing structures and govern their use according to business requirements.
  • Manage the evaluation and integration of new data sources as they become available and monitor the performance, scalability, and security of data.
  • Review the initial analysis and deliver the user interface (UI) to the customer to enable further analysis.

Key responsibilities
  • Manage a team of 10-12 data engineers
  • Identify and improve the technical competencies within the team and establish practices for delivering engineering excellence.
  • Lead agile delivery, and together with aligned Scrum Masters and Product Owners, develop self-directed, innovative, and high performing agile teams.
  • Hire and manages technical talent; Collective capabilities for leadership, including leading teams, giving feedback, facilitating meetings, and coaching and mentoring
  • Influence a diverse group of stakeholders through strong leadership skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with ability to lead the team to push the solution and progress.
  • Design and build Big Data and real-time analytics solutions using industry standard technologies and work with data architects to make sure Big Data solutions align with technology direction.
  • Lead by example, role-modeling best practices for unit testing, CI/CD, performance testing, capacity planning, documentation, monitoring, alerting and incident response.



Minimum Required Experiences
  • 8+ years of experience in software development for data systems at scale (building data warehouse, data marts, data lakes, ETL, analytic solutions, etc.)
  • 5+ years of experience applying agile principles and Scrum practices
  • 3+ years of experience implementing solutions with AWS, specifically data services (EC2, EMR, RDS, Redshift, Aurora-Postgres, Glue ETL, Tibco, Informatica, Lambda, SNS, SQS etc)
  • 3+ years of experience in Spark based development using Python, Java or Scala
  • 2+ years of leadership experience managing and leading data teams
  • Knowledge of market trends including cloud technology
  • Experience with BI tools (Tableau, MicroStrategy etc.) and Data Virtualization tools - Dremio
  • Experience using metrics to drive product and business decisions
  • Demonstrated interest in learning about emerging data platforms and Big Data technologies
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science and/or related equivalent experience preferred
