Job Description

Using various valuation techniques from cash flow models to machine learning, support the regular determination of the fair value for one or more of the following Fannie Mae asset categories: REO properties, Non-Performing & Reperforming Loans, Credit Enhancement, Guaranty Fees and Guaranty Obligation. The valuations produced support financial reporting, forecasting, portfolio analytics, capital markets, and the termination of loan loss allowance.


The Finance - Financial Engineering - Senior Associate role will offer you the flexibility to make each day your own, while working alongside people who care so that you can deliver on the following responsibilities:
  • Lead, oversee and execute portions of the fair valuation production process
  • Devise, develop and refine valuation methodologies
  • Review, validate, and deliver production results
  • Use analytic & reporting tools to conduct analysis, evaluate and interpret movements in value
  • Examine economic data, model constructs and model outputs to regularly evaluate the efficacy of models, tools and processes
  • Regularly confer with market experts, modelers, and traders to gather, report and distribute market related information.
  • Perform ad hoc analyses and assist managers with analytical and valuation inquiries.
  • Act as team representative; collaborate and support groups utilizing valuation data.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations and reports for oversight committees and senior management



Minimum Required Experiences
  • 2 years

Desired Experiences
  • Bachelor's degree with 2 to 4 years of relevant experiencein Finance, Economics, Mathematics or Data Science
  • Practical or academic experience in mortgage or fixed income finance
  • Experience working in a financially regulated company
  • Experience in financial analysis, modeling, and/or forecasting
  • Solid written and verbal communication

  • Skilled in Python object-oriented programming
  • Skilled in R
  • Skilled in the use of data visualization software (e.g., Tableau)
  • Skilled in Excel
  • Skilled in TOAD SQL database management tool
  • Skilled in Amazon Web Services (AWS) offerings, development, and networking platforms
  • Skilled in RStudio to develop programs in R
  • Skilled in SQL
  • Skilled in SAS
