Job Description Summary

The Branch Reporting Manager is a dynamic role that plays a critical part on the controllership team as the strategic and technical lead for the multiple international legal entities of a US GAAP reporting legal entity.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Oversees STAT reporting and US GAAP reporting for 12 international legal entities
  • Oversight of Fixed asset accounting and reporting
  • Supervise a team of 4-5 professionals supporting branch reporting
  • Technical expert for all STAT reporting for the business
  • Strategic controllership project lead for international locations and provides support to the global controllership team
  • Project leader for work transitioning from 3rd party into local business controllership team
  • Technical expert for all statutory accounting for multiple international countries
  • Ensure timely reporting of STAT financials with reporting of STAT to GAAP and STAT to Tax and value added tax filings
  • Ensure appropriate financial close procedures are in place including account reconciliations for international legal entities
  • Overall ownership of international legal entities balance sheets and income statements
  • Ownership and accountability, Cash management, Accounts receivable, Accounts payable, Payroll, Pension, IBS, Variance analysis, and Internal controls for international locations
  • Ownership of any statutory reporting including Tax and liaise with the auditors
  • Ownership of global legal entities balance sheet and income statements
  • Provides best practice and insights to the team over all international processes and accounting
  • Ownership and continuous review of financial controls and reporting systems within the international locations looking for improvements in process
  • Develop financial close functions that will help streamline, standardize and strengthen efficiencies
  • Interact with Global Tax Team with Sales Tax and Value Added Tax compliance
  • Review and complete Account Reconciliations as a member of the controllership team
  • Quarterly record to report and financial close functions
  • Completion of controllership audit request for Deloitte and Corporate Audit Staff for international branch reporting
  • Assist in executing and testing business requirements related to Corporate Enterprise Standards compliance
  • Provides best practice and insights/leadership over all international processes and accounting
  • Develop and provide training, as necessary
  • Contribute to department and organization special projects as assigned
  • Document policies, procedures and workflow for assigned areas of responsibility
  • Drive process and issue resolution and push for simplification
  • Enforce Controllership in accordance with GE and GEH Policies and Procedures
  • Ensure all systems and processes adhere to GE General Accounting Procedures (GAP) and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and recommend and implement enhancements as changes warrant

Basic Qualifications (include growth traits, work traits, and values):
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in controllership role and/or public accounting
  • CPA license required

  • 7 years experience including operational accounting
  • International controllership highly desired
  • Public Accounting experience highly desirable
  • Controller experience highly desirable
  • Experience of leading a finance team including developing team members
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to manage change projects
  • Evidence of preparing reports and presentations to Board level stakeholders
  • Ability to establish and meet deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of professional services business would be an advantage
