Associate Director/Director, Global Commercial – Diagnostics

About This Role
The Global Alzheimer’s Disease (AD) commercial team leads activities focused on market understanding, market development, portfolio and brand strategy, customer engagement, launch readiness, and tactical planning, as well as, forecasting and resourcing across our AD portfolio.

You will help develop a disease area diagnostic strategy that supports pipeline assets and the launch of Biogen’s newly approved therapy for the treatment of early Alzheimer’s disease. Reporting to the Alzheimer’s Disease Global Commercial Diagnostics Lead, you will work extensively with other commercial, market access, research & development, manufacturing & supply, medical affairs, regulatory, corporate affairs (including advocacy and policy), and regional/affiliate partners.

What You’ll Do
  • Identify, understand, and address patient and consumer needs, critical success factors, and global market conditions to support the development of a disease area diagnostic strategy
  • Manage external strategic partnerships with diagnostics manufacturers and ensure due diligence and delivery on all milestones to support the AD strategy
  • Provide diagnostic commercial and/or scientific expertise and leverage project management capabilities to manage daily operations for multiple innovative and collaborative projects to develop diagnostic solutions for therapies and support launch of product assets in AD
  • Support and form comprehensive strategic and tactical plans to ensure all milestones and deliverables for diagnostic solutions are met in alignment with launch plans for product assets
  • Partners with regional/country functions & leadership to prepare for local country diagnostic planning and launches; gains input to support adoption of global plans and tactics
  • Educates internal key stakeholders on the market conditions and critical success factors necessary to support diagnostic initiatives with required resources

Qualifications

  • 10+ years (Associate Director) to 12+ years (Director) relevant diagnostics/pharmaceutical marketing or commercial product launch experience in specialty pharma, both at an affiliate and regional/ global level
  • Demonstrated success in developing long-term disease area and launch strategies, shorter-term launch plans, and executing launches at a regional and local level
  • Experience influencing through the matrix, leading cross-functional and cross-geography teams, and working within or closely with affiliates
  • Excellent technical understanding and knowledge of diagnostic development and customer requirements
  • Substantial affiliate marketing, sales, medical, advocacy or Market Access experience is a plus

Education
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • MBA or Ph.D. highly preferred

In this field-based, specialty sales representative position you will be called upon to sell our products with key stakeholders in the Alzheimer’s Disease community: including Neurologists and allied health professionals.
