Blackstone Alternative Asset Management (BAAM®) manages approximately $79 billion across a diversified set of businesses, including a customized portfolio solutions business, a special situations platform, a business that purchases GP stakes in alternative asset managers, an open-ended mutual fund platform, and an emerging manager seeding business. BAAM invests across a variety of asset classes and strategies to create solutions for its investors. Group Overview:

The Strategy and Operations group works directly with the COO of BAAM to design and execute strategic initiatives that result in more efficient and controlled processes, greater client impact, an improved bottom line and a positive workforce culture. The Group works closely with BAAM senior management and across all BAAM businesses, including Blackstone Principal Solutions (BPS), Special Situations, Strategic Capital, Horizon and Individual Investor Solutions (IIS).

The group focuses on the following pillars:
  • Business Strategy: Solve complex problems and execute high priority projects aligned with BAAM's strategic vision
  • Operational Strategy: Lead strategic transformation efforts to enhance BAAM's operating model (e.g., process re-engineering, service provider support, automation)
  • Product Strategy: Manage launch activities for new investment products and solutions
  • People Strategy: Design and implement initiatives to strengthen BAAM's culture


Job Description:

BAAM is seeking a versatile Analyst with exceptional analytical, technical and communication skills to join the Strategy and Operations group. The Analyst will play an essential role in all of the team's work and will have the opportunity to lead strategic initiatives across the business.

The Analyst will be expected to work on multiple projects at once and will collaborate with colleagues at all levels, gaining significant exposure to all aspects of BAAM's business.

Given the small size of the team, the Analyst will be able to make a meaningful contribution from day one and will gain exposure to senior members of the business.

Qualifications:

Blackstone seeks to hire individuals who are highly motivated, intelligent and have demonstrated excellence in prior endeavors. The successful candidate should have:

  • At least 2 years of relevant work experience, preferably in management/strategy consulting
  • Strong conceptual and analytical thinking abilities
  • Demonstrated track record of problem solving
  • Excellent interpersonal, influencing and communication skills
  • Superior presentation capabilities (Microsoft PowerPoint)
  • Strong project management capabilities
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Exceptional work ethic, entrepreneurial spirit, intellectual curiosity, and desire to continually expand their understanding and improve
  • Candidate should be self-motivated, team-oriented and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, results-focused environment
