Job Title: Legal & Compliance - BAAM, VP/SVP

Job Description:

The successful candidate will work closely with BAAM's Chief Compliance Officer on a variety of legal and compliance matters relating to hedge funds, hybrid funds and fund of hedge funds. Primary job responsibilities will include:

  • Reviewing documentation for BAAM's fund products including sections of PPMs, LPAs, transfer agreements and subscription documents;

  • Working closely with BAAM's ESG team on legal and regulatory matters;

  • Overseeing investor onboarding process including working with BAAM's client operations team and coordinating with administrators conducting AML;

  • Partnering with BAAM operations team implementing and maintaining an automated expense allocation tool;

  • Liaising with fund directors and coordinating board meetings;

  • Monitoring legal and regulatory developments and implementing new policies and procedures designed to mitigate risk for BAAM's business and investments;

  • Assisting in the implementation of the funds' compliance programs;

  • Overseeing various SEC, CFTC and foreign regulatory filings, coordinating with the appropriate BAAM operations and finance teams; and

  • Substantive interaction with BAAM's investment and operational professionals regarding all business matters.



Qualifications:

BAAM seeks to hire individuals who are highly motivated, intelligent, enthusiastic, team players and have demonstrated excellence in prior endeavors. Candidates should ideally have between 6 to 10 full years of experience in a compliance role at a hedge fund, private equity fund, compliance consulting or financial services firm with substantive knowledge of the Investment Advisers Act of 1940 and/or at a law firm as a practicing funds lawyer. The successful candidate should have strong communication and organizational skills, as well as a demonstrated ability to write effectively.
