Sr. Facilities Engineering Technician- Dayshift- Columbus Plant

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Environmental, Health, Safety and Security Demonstrate accountability and responsibility for EHS performance and compliance through active participation and support of Abbott's EHS Program.
  • Ensure Facility compliance with all environmental agencies (Federal, State, and Local) and all GMP, regulatory, and safety requirements.
  • Projects and Planning Support Plant capital projects by collaborating with plant and or division engineering. Performs work in more than one of the maintenance trades: carpentry, plumbing, painting, machine and equipment repair, electrical and HVAC, sheet metal fabrication, and welding, perform construction, repair, and/or alteration of structures such as walls, roofs or office fixtures. (Senior Level).
  • Projects and Planning Support Plant capital projects by collaborating with plant and or division engineering.
  • Ensure project timetables are met and projects completed on time.
  • Plan and organize Facility Maintenance activities that relate to PM's, repairs, and audit preparation.
  • Quality and Compliance: Assure the support, implementation, compliance and maintenance of programs and systems related to the following:
  • Quality/Regulatory.
  • HVAC.
  • Environmental Health and Safety.
  • Technical: Provide technical resources to the facilities, plant, and division engineering groups.
  • Analyze trends and make recommendations to improve Facility operations.
  • Participate in brainstorming and development of CIP projects.
  • People/Vendor Management: Monitor daily contractor activity and assure vendor safety by regularly monitoring contractor activities, correcting unsafe behaviors, and completing contractor safety reviews.
  • Budget In coordination with the Facility Maintenance Supervisor, maintain/manage the direct expense budgets per plan or yearly updates for the Facility Maintenance department.
  • Monitor Facility Maintenance Scheduled Work Compliance and assist in developing weekly Facilities Maintenance Schedule.
  • Provide technical support for the Facilities Maintenance Team with focus on safe practices, GMP compliance and solutions for unique requests of Facilities Maintenance
  • Coordinate with various plant departments to complete Facilities Maintenance tasks.
  • Understand and support the Facilities Maintenance Planning/Scheduling work.
  • Help coordinate immediate work requests for the Facilities Maintenance Team

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE, YOU'LL BRING

Required
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Successful completion of Abbott's skill test.
  • 2 or more years of experience working with industrial utilities systems or industrial electrical/mechanical systems.
  • Three years related experience.
  • Working knowledge of HVAC mechanical, pneumatic and electrical controls and devices, computer-controlled HVAC systems, plumbing, and general building construction and repair trades.
  • Knowledge of GMP requirements to maintain regulatory compliance.
