Job Summary

The Community Engagement Coordinator supports the Community and Provider Engagement team through coordination of community outreach functions with under the supervision of the Director. This position works cross-functionally to ensure tracking of outcomes, compliance measures and event coordination is maintained. The Engagement Coordinator provides support on all events designed to grow or retain membership.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinates the participation of the Community Outreach team in various external outreach/enrollment activities, and events.
  • Manages the coordination of delivery of supplies and promotional materials.
  • Maintains department operations, training, and marketing manuals.
  • Maintains the accuracy of the Community Outreach activities calendar.
  • Define and track program milestones while developing, maintaining, and reporting on an overall integrated delivery plan.
  • Using various software and tools, track events and results reporting.
  • Assist in creating flyers, invitations, presentations, and other communication for engagement events.
  • Maintain accurate outreach calendar of events and marketing material log for LA Care oversight audits.
  • Responsible for improving processes and systems to enhance performance of the job area.
  • Communicates consistently and proactively with direct leadership, consults, and makes recommendations on significant issues or problems when they arise.
  • Support in the growth/retention initiatives of other Blue Shield of California Promise Health Plan.
  • Perform other job-related duties as needed.




Qualifications

Knowledge and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing or related field and five years' experience in insurance industry OR a combination of academic education, professional training, or work experience, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
  • Broad knowledge of state regulated health programs - Medi-Cal and Medicare desired.
  • Community outreach coordination experience, especially with community-based organizations, faith-based organizations, city and county officials, state officials and others.
  • Experience in a similar role with proven track record of relationship-building in low to mid-income communities highly desired.
  • Must have high level of self-motivation and ability to work both independently and as a supportive member of the team.
  • Flexibility, adaptability and positive attitude.
  • Excellent interpersonal and diplomacy skills.
  • Ability to anticipate and creatively solve problems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking and presentation skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while meeting deadlines and without compromising quality.
  • Strong computer skills and Microsoft Office knowledge (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, etc.).
  • Valid California Driver's License required.
  • Must possess automobile insurance coverage.

Office Environment - roles involving part to full time schedule in Office Environment. Based in our physical offices and work from home office/deskwork - Activity level: Sedentary, frequency most of work day.
