As a contributing member of the LCA team, perform thermal hydraulic safety analyses for BWR plants, including currently operating BWR plants as well as new plants (ABWR and BWRX) operating or planned worldwide.

Essential Responsibilities :
As the Thermal Hydraulics Engineer- LOCA and Containment of Thermal Hydraulics Engineer, you will:
  • Perform technical evaluations and analyses in the area of Emergency Core Cooling System Loss of Coolant Accidents, containment response and impact, hydrodynamic and pressurization loads, fuel performance, with general expertise in two-phase thermal hydraulic analysis techniques
  • Ensure work is in compliance with NRC regulated policies and procedures, as well as Quality Assurance standards.
  • Participate in Company initiatives, including process improvement and New Product Introduction opportunities
  • Particpate in LCA team process improvement/ automation initiatives
  • Perform in cross-disciplinary settings, engaged with interfacing teams responsible for mechanical design, core design, licensing, systems design or other affiliated organizations to find optimum customer solutions


Qualifications/Requirements :
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Discipline from an accredited college or university


Desired Characteristics :
  • Experience in thermal hydraulic modeling as applied to nuclear reactor systems
  • Completion of FoL, ENGAGE; Progress toward completion of Engineering Master's degree and/or ACE Certificate
  • Edison Engineering Program
  • M.S. in engineering discipline from an accredited college or university with experience in thermal hydraulic modeling as applied to nuclear reactor systems
  • Experience with BWRs
  • Experience with 10 CFR 50.46 regulations
  • Experience with best estimate and CSAU applications
  • Experience with T/H systems codes such as TRACG, TRACE, RELAP, or RETRAN
  • Experience with programming (C#, FORTRAN, PYTHON)
  • Decisiveness and the ability to make decisions with speed and accuracy based on the best available information

The salary range for this position is $72K-$82K. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for a performance bonus .
