Assistant Team Lead - Assembly Job

FLSA Status: Hourly - Non-exempt

Shift: 1st shift - 5 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Shift: Monday to Thursday 4/10, overtime on Friday/Saturday

Pay: $20perhour

Benefits: Prorated 2 weeks/80 hours of vacation and 3 sick days, 9 paid holidays, STD, LTD, 401k match, medical/RX, dental, vision, life insurance and more. Will work for the 2020 Business of the Year recipient, from the Marshfield Area Chamber of Commerce.

$1,000 retention bonus after one year of employment

$3,000 relocation bonus if moving 100+ miles

Job Output:

This employee functions primarily in a backup role to the department Team Lead when the Team Lead is absent. When the Team Lead is present, this position is primarily working in the department adding value to product. Employee is also responsible for product quality leaving department. Ensures that Standard Work is being followed. Records job data (and maintains these records) for each order going through the department. Promotes and governs a safe working environment. Supports and enforces company policy. Mentors and coaches new employees on all aspects of production, safety, quality, cost, delivery.

Essential Duties and Responsibilitiesmayinclude the following:
  • Conduct meetings with staff to give daily direction and goals
  • Utilize reports, standard hours, actual hours, absorption, performance, schedule, etc.
  • Assist with employee issues
  • Train employees on jobs, mentors staff
  • Work with Engineering and Quality departments to solve issues on the floor.
  • Work with the materials group to schedule and tend to parts issues.
  • Perform routine and non-routine repetitive production and/or service duties to include: operation of specialty machinery, setup of complex tooling and equipment, completion of reports and logs, follow-up on work schedules
  • Communicate established safety standards to co-workers.
  • Interpret process sheets for workers
  • Read measuring instruments.
  • Must clean and organize own area at the end of every shift.
  • Provide quality products and services for internal and external customers. Performance of quality work and decisions is important to succeeding operations.
  • Must communicate with department staff, give recognition and mentor staff.
  • Must communicate with the Safety department to ensure all safety and OSHA 1910 standards are followed.
  • Must communicate with the Quality department to ensure all quality standards are followed.
  • Must communicate with Human Resources to ensure all legal standards are followed.

Education and/or Experience
  • Minimum GED or High School diploma

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
  • Preferred: CPR/AED/1st Aid, OSHA 10 Hour, MDI Supervisor Certification
