I. Job Summary The Vendor Payables Team Lead is responsible for providing direction and guidance to the Vendor Payables Team on process, functionalities and tasks to perform. In addition, the Lead performs trainings and audits that support designated role responsibilities and provide feedback to management of individual and group strengths, weaknesses and motivations.

II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned.
  • Assists in managing daily operational tasks with management support
  • Provides training to new and existing employees, as needed, for the Vendor Payables Rep I & II role requirements
  • Performs required weekly audits measuring quality, accuracy and timeliness of main functionalities performed by Vendor Payables Rep roles
  • Performs trainings for process updates, enhancements and refresher courses requested by supervisor/manager
  • Responsible for maintaining the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) Inventory Log
  • Responsible for creation of new SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and revisions of existing SOPs when changes in processes or procedures occur
  • Provides reporting of audit results and feedback for performance recommendations to Supervisor/Manager
  • Collaborates with Supervisor/Manager on individual and team progress
  • Communicates instructions clearly through written and verbal explanation to team members

IV. Qualifications The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job.

A. Education and Experience
  • Education: Associate's Degree (accredited), or in lieu of degree, High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and 2 years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience: 3 years of relevant work experience (in addition to education requirement).

B. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements
  • None required.

C. Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required
  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication and strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills; must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to prioritize based on department and company standards
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
  • Detail orientated and excellent problem solving skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel; intermediate level (pivot tables and v-lookups are standard practice)
  • Excellent customer service skills are required
  • Basic accounting knowledge and billing concepts; good math aptitude and ability to work accurately with numbers are essential.
  • Internal candidate must be performing in an above average capacity in their current position, be an employee in good standing and have at least 12 months service in their current position.
  • Knowledge of Waste Management services, policies and system interfaces a plus.
