Principal Wireless Network Engineer

Responsibilities

The Principal Wireless
Network Engineer is the subject matter expert taking the lead role in wireless
network architecture, design, planning, assessment, and implementation. In this role, you will serve as the lead for escalation support for wireless, providing recommendations and initiating necessary corrective action to insure optimal wireless network
performance for the UCLA Health organization. You will be responsible for
ensuring that policies, standards, procedures, and how-to documents are
utilized and followed, and you will provide day-to-day support of the 24 x 7 production
environment of the enterprise network/VoIP (core, distribution, wired &
wireless access layers, AAA servers, IPAM, DHCP, VoIP systems, WAN, and
network/VoIP monitoring). You will also be responsible for the NAC (Network Access Control) on wired,
wireless and VPN.

In this role, you will be expected to participate in the weekly rotational after-hours 24x7
on-call support and perform other assigned tasks as needed by departmental
requirements.
Qualifications

* 10+ years or more hands-on experience with Wireless Networking, including recent 5+ years' experience on Aruba wireless
* 5 years or more experience delivering network and/or security solutions for enterprise customers
* 3 years or more experience with Cisco Catalyst/Nexus series switches
* Expert in Aruba wireless solution stack (Controllers(8.x), Access Points, ClearPass and Airwave)
* Expert level understanding of RADIUS, AAA, TACACS+
* Experience working with DNS and DHCP servers
* Solid understanding of authentication databases-Active Directory & sLDAP
* Solid understanding of Digital Certificate Management via Microsoft PKI
* Working knowledge on Mobile Device Management (Airwatch, JAMF, etc.)
* Experience with Wireless captures analysis, spectrum analysis and site survey, and designing and deploying location-based services ( WiFi, BLE etc.)
* Demonstrated ability to develop creative solutions to complex problems
* Working experience with next generation firewalls (Palo Alto Networks, Fortinet, Cisco, Juniper, etc.)
* Working experience with Routing, Switching.
* Active Expert level Wireless Certification (CCIE-Wireless or ACMX)
* Active Professional level certification on Routing/Switching
