Study Coordinator (English/Spanish Bilingual) - Alhambra

Responsibilities
The UCLA Research Center - Alhambra is seeking to hire a part-time, bi-lingual Study Coordinator that is fluent in both Spanish and English. The Center's main study focuses on the early stages of atherosclerosis in research participants from diverse ethnic backgrounds. Primary duties include:

*Assist research participants with interpreting/translating (Spanish to English)
*Conduct medical procedures (e.g. check vitals/weight, blood pressure, 12-lead EKG, urine collection)
*Recruit research participants, schedule appointments, and perform consent and data collection/management
*Administer research participant interviews, questionnaires and surveys
*Request/collect medical records, death certificates or other related medical events documentation
*Order medical and clinical supplies and maintain inventory

Note: this position/center is located in the city of Alhambra. Position is part-time and anticipated to last for 3 months. May convert to career.

Qualifications
*Must be able to speak, read, and write fluently in Spanish and English
*Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency of medical terminology to sufficiently read research protocols with comprehension
*General knowledge of medical diagnosis in order to correctly interpret medical history
*Skilled in using Microsoft Office Word and Excel
*Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient medical records and information

Not required, but a bonus if you have the following:
*CPT certified or ability to become CPT certified
*Demonstrated experience/knowledge in the following: measure patient blood pressure, weight and other vital signs; perform ECG, Neuropathy Testing using Neuropen and Vibratory Tuning Fork; perform spirometry and physical function testing using a handheld pressure device.
*Bachelor's degree
