Business System Analyst III

Responsibilities

This position provides programming, database
development/management, and advanced technical and analytical data support to
UCLA Health Cancer Services, and helps and supports modernizing Cancer registry
abstraction work flow. The incumbent will be responsible for gathering
requirements, designing, building, and maintaining SQL workspace/applications
and databases used in reporting/data submissions to internal service lines and
external agencies for quality initiatives and collaboratives. This will also
include design, build and test quality/performance indicators and metrics. The
incumbent is required to work efficiently and effectively as part of the team
and work productively with the service line quality officers while assuring the
maximum use of technology to promote efficient work systems. The incumbent needs to have strong
intellectual curiosity and passion for solving difficult technical issues and
must be flexible with ability to work well as part of the "team". The
Incumbent also preferred to have an understanding of various Machine Learning
Algorithms and Programming concepts. The Incumbent is required to an
understanding of managing complex projects.
Qualifications
REQUIRED:
BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, Statistics, Business, or related fields
Customer focused/results-oriented/sense of urgency/team player/flexible and adaptable
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
2+ years programming experience in multiple languages, tools and libraries including R, Python, C#, .Net, MS Visual Studio, HTML,
Expertise in data management and system integration
2+ year experience with report development (SQL, MS Access, Tableau)
1+ year experience with ETL environments (SSIS 2008, Informatica PowerCenter 9.x,Pentaho Data Integration)
2+ year experience in Healthcare Industry
Demonstrated ability to learn new technology quickly
Excellent communication skills

PREFERRED:
MBA or MS
in statistics, computer science, or mathematics
Excellent
understanding of Epic Chronicles data Structures and cross-referencing
the elements in Clarity Data Model
Demonstrate
proficiency in SQL, Tableau, Excel
Epic Clarity and/or Cogito Certification is desired

3+ year
experience in data management and data analysis

3+ year experience in healthcare industry
