About This Role

The Medical Pipeline Engagement Lead is part of US Medical, a strategic partner within Biogen, whose responsibility is to develop and maintain professional relationships with prominent healthcare providers and key decision makers as they relate to diseases and therapeutic areas in the development phase. This role will build professional relationships that help garner relevant and timely insight back into Biogen. The Medical Pipeline Engagement Lead will also support the development and implementation of the overall deliverables and goals of the US Medical Pipeline team and will report to Head, Medical Pipeline. What You’ll Do

· Assist the Medical Director of Pipeline in the development and execution of strategic priorities for the group, including gaining insights that can help inform evidence generation needs of assets in development from a US Medical perspective.

· Develop a cross-functional stakeholder map and engagement plan that includes HCPs, Payers, Medical associations, and Patient Advocacy groups/organizations to drive scientific exchange with stakeholders to help uncover insights that could impact understanding of evolving trends in management of diseases within scope for assets in development.

· Engage key healthcare professionals at the national, regional, and local level, educating them with current, fair-balanced medical, scientific information regarding Biogen’s pipeline programs and seek input that may help shape Biogen’s understanding of emerging treatment paradigms.

· In partnership with US Medical Value Strategy & Execution, develop a US payer engagement plan, including payer segments for assets in development, and coordinate capture of feedback from MVSE/HEOR external engagements on pipeline.

· Engage, as appropriate, with potential patient advocacy groups and organizations that are focused on advancing care options for therapeutic areas of interest in development.

· Plan, coordinate and conduct advisory boards to gain feedback, insight, and intelligence on a variety of topics, including clinical data, stakeholder unmet needs, possible therapy positioning in patient care for assets in pipeline

You have a talent for establishing professional relationships with thought leaders, academic centers and researchers and effectively communicating complex cutting-edge science and research concepts to healthcare decision makers. You seek to meaningfully contribute to and shape the long-term medical and commercial success of assets in development to advance understanding of unmet needs in patient care.

This role is Field – based and preferred that individual reside within easy travel distance to major airport.

Qualifications

Required Skills

· A minimum 5 years of combined clinical, research or pharma experience with 3+ years prior MSL experience required

· Advanced degree in health-related field (MD, DO, PharmD or PhD); preferably in neuroscience

· Demonstrated stakeholder focus orientation and credibility / recognition for skills in HCP engagement

· Demonstrated ability to provide insights that may impact product strategy

· Strong expertise in the conduct of clinical trials, with proficiency in critical data review and interpretation

· Excellent analytical, communication and presentation skills and solid experience in translating medical/clinical feedback gained from engagements in actionable insights

· Ability to travel is required; approximately 40%, including ability to travel overnight and occasionally on weekends once, assuming health concerns (such as COVID-19) are no longer a factor.

· Must be 18 years of age or older with a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record. Must have authorization and ability to drive a company leased vehicle or rental

PreferredSkills

· Prior launch experience and experience working on assets in development highly preferred

· Demonstrated knowledge of the clinical development process and product life-cycle from early stage through product launch, maturity and loss of exclusivity.

Biogen’s US Alzheimer’s Franchise is looking to recruit proven and ambitious sales achievers with at least five years of experience in pharma, specialty, hospital, med device/capital equipment, and/or biotech sales.
