Executive Director, Global Commercial Lead

About This Role
Biogen’s Global Product Strategy & Commercialization team sits at the intersection of data sciences and commercial investment decision-making. We work collaboratively across the organization to determine the most effective business approach for getting our therapies to the patients who need them.

You will serve as Biogen’s brand lead on a partnered asset that has received breakthrough designation from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Reporting to the Vice President, Global Product Development and Commercialization, you will drive commercial strategy for an asset that, if successfully developed and approved, has the potential to be a novel, differentiated treatment paradigm in depression.

What You’ll Do
  • Develop strategy that will guide and facilitate the achievement of key functions or business unit objectives
  • Navigate our partnership and cultivate a relationship with the alliance partner to develop and execute a seamless, unified global commercialization strategy and execution in alignment with collaboration commitments
  • Navigate senior levels of the organization and cultivate relationships across regions to secure resources and commitment for key functional initiatives
  • Lead the Global Commercial team to develop the launch strategy and the launch plan that can be cascaded down to all Regions
  • Define and drive the business goals for the product by delivering high-quality brand strategic plans for the business

Who You Are
You are a proven marketing leader with outstanding relationship-building and project management experience. You have successfully mastered influencing and leading across the matrix to create and communicate seamless Global, Regional, and Local launch strategy and tactical plans.



Required Skills
  • 15+ years of experience in biopharmaceutical marketing and operational experience including:
    • Proven successful launch experience
    • Experience developing and executing marketing strategies
    • Demonstrated excellence in managing commercial partnerships
  • Leadership :
    • Strong leadership, planning and organization, analytics, decision making, and problem-solving skills
  • Relationship building :
    • Outstanding relationship building and communication skills, including ability to navigate throughout the organization, with external partners, and with individuals at all levels.
    • Proven experience managing relationships for a partnered asset
  • Project Management :
    • Ability to identify priorities, align strategic and tactical plans and motivate a team of direct reports and cross-functional partners

Preferred Skills
  • Affiliate in-line marketing experience
  • Global marketing experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required. MBA or advanced degree preferred

Biogen’s US Alzheimer’s Franchise is looking to recruit proven and ambitious sales achievers with at least five years of experience in pharma, specialty, hospital, med device/capital equipment, and/or biotech sales.
In this field-based, specialty sales representative position you will be called upon to sell our products with key stakeholders in the Alzheimer’s Disease community: including Neurologists and allied health professionals.
