VP, Portfolio Innovation

The role will be responsible for the vision and evolution of our portfolio of solutions, emphasizing brand evolution, digital innovation, and inspiring leadership. As a Digital Services Center leadership team member, this role will spearhead portfolio innovation that drives the client's digital transformation, continuously evolves the customer experience, and delivers an immersive experience that fuels Ricoh's solutions, including technology, services, and services people and customers. This role will provide the overall vision for the portfolio roadmap, will manage a team of strategists, and business analysts with specific subject matter expertise to align to our go-to market focus, and will collaborate closely with all marketing leadership, service and sales leaders for the development and support of revenue and gross profit.

  • Facilitate and direct the entire ideation process and subsequent opportunity analysis to identify products and solutions with the most significant opportunity for growth and profitability.
  • Design and manage a Customer Co-Creation methodology that enables strategic customer roadmap alignment and creates a line of sight to customer requirements for the Digital Service Center development teams building more efficient time to market with the clear voice of customers.
  • Consume a wide variety of inputs (e.g., primary and secondary research, articles) across North America to recognize trends and synthesize findings into well-structured, visually-driven presentations to help bring an external perspective into the organization.
  • Bring in external insights into the organization to understand customer evolving needs and marketplace trends to drive product innovation and evolution.
  • Conduct detailed market opportunity assessments which include market and competitive analysis in Canada and the United States to develop comprehensive strategies and operating plans to grow the business profitably.
  • Create and engage with an external innovation “network” of partners, stakeholders, customers, and 3rd parties in adjacent areas – and pursue co-creation opportunities across the network.
  • Lead product creation workshops, providing guidance and oversight and contributing to generating content/ideas to drive business opportunity and development.
  • Implement an innovation framework that fosters collaboration across key stakeholder groups, developing ideas and knowledge sharing to optimize involvement and flow of innovative ideas to build product portfolio.
  • Establish a pipeline of innovation opportunities to pursue and build.
  • Responsible for the end-to-end process to incubate new ideas, embody a culture of innovation and closely partner throughout the portfolio development process, including all aspects of research, conceptualization, design, implementation, deployment, and market launch.
  • Create true collaboration with sales and marketing teams across North America to create services & technologies with clear accountability.

QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience, and Certifications)
  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master's Degree preferred or equivalent experience in related field.
  • Minimum 10 - 15 years’ experience in successful business development, strategic client relationships and solutions development.
  • Experience in solutions development, business development, strategic partnerships and/or strategic consulting required.
  • Experience leading a startup or successful innovation team.
  • Budget and P&L management.
  • Experience with working at executive level.
  • Experience in business plan development with proven track record and success in launching successful go to market solutions.
