  • Test equipment and test experts as well as the first line of defense on the production floor for trending failures.
    • Review and disposition the failure data weekly at the Tech Team meetings
    • Determine if the issue is Test Equipment related or Unit Under Test (UUT) related.
  • Serve as the liaison between production and design engineering
    • Compiles the failure trend data (the TEs disposition) and chairs the weekly Tech Team meeting with the Integrated Product Team (IPT), consisting of (Engineering, Ops, QA, and Supply Chain).
    • Resolve Test Equipment design upgrades as well as UUT producibility design/drawing changes required as a result of the trending data analysis.
      • Estimate budget required and establish ROI of any upgrade/enhancement efforts
  • Execute upgrade plan within cost and schedule
  • Lead and drive activities to improve test yields & reduce cycle time
  • Lead and direct Product Test Engineers on critical test issues (i.e. poor test yields, engineering investigations and product throughput improvements)
  • Ensure field investigation readiness & execution
  • Ensure readiness for new programs transitioning into Aftermarket (i.e. test methodology, test hardware availability. etc)
  • Review/approve new or changes to CMMs & SBs
  • Mentor PTE team to establish test/troubleshoot methods and analyze test data
  • Provide technical leadership for assigned hardware/systems to assure goals of turn-time, cost, reliability and customer satisfaction are met
  • Resolve engineering configuration / hardware support issues
  • Support customer or agency audits as necessary
  • Support PEMS by analyzing in-service data to identify need for repairs or changes in product design
  • Identify technical solutions to address reliability issues
  • Provide data analysis by customer to support Maintenance-by-the-hour agreements, MTBR/MTBUR calculations, and problem identification
  • Support failure analysis and product design changes
  • Comply with audits
  • Proactively maintain safe environment

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • All applicants must have at least a current active secret DoD Security clearance at time of application to be considered
  • Formal qualification to be related to field of work
  • Technical qualification is preferable and highly recommended
  • Others as specified by BAE Systems Compensation organization
  • Advanced-level technical skills and knowledge of technical requirements and system flows skills relevant to job / area of work

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Exposure to Lean Manufacturing essential
  • Skills and experience in Oracle, Windchill, Data Analysis Software & MSOffice
